View it with a bit of a positive. If this is due to the A321 delayed deliveries, which it is, with those continuing into the near future could it well be that BHX gets a permanent A330-200 for the future seasons ahead to compensate. After all we know Jet2 are growing, have 3 relatively new bases on their hands they want to grow, Luton is going to be A321 only so those will have to come from somewhere in the network (Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Stansted).

I think eventually they will have to try Egypt as they have a presence in almost all other short haul markets. In addition, the coast West of Alexandria is being developed with major resorts. Corsica would be great but I just do not think there is the accommodation capacity for any large scale operation.

UK airlines and travel companies are not very dynamic in comparison with countries such as Poland, Czech Republic or Italy which offer destinations such as Mombasa, Zanzibar, Dakar, Sri Lanka, Mauritius etc. There are some specific reasons for some of these destinations but tour companies in UK in 2025 are largely offering more or less the same destinations as they were 30 or 40 years ago.

I really don’t understand why you have to bring up MAN everytime you reply in the BHX thread but that aside I think SeanM was asking where Jet2 as a company as a whole goes in the future rather than specific airports. There are only a few routes that aren’t served from BHX which may or may not be added further down the line.

Realistically I expect the likes of Egypt and Tunisia to be reintroduced at some point and the new A321’s now open up the possibility for Cape Verde (accommodation permitting) and perhaps the likes of Banjul which seemed to work for Thomas Cook back in the day.

As has already been pointed out your assessment is wrong. While MAN is undoubtedly their biggest base it’s probably a toss up next between BHX and STN where the new destinations are started first.

Manchester is indeed correct.

It depends on the capacity Jet2 want to add and the niche. For example Jerez has been added to Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds the year for the summer. Next year Stansted is on sale but thats it. Clearly Jet2 know that it's not just a Jet2holidays destination but also Jet2.com seats so going from the north where there is less competition is better then going head to head with 2 weekly versus daily with Ryanair is better to establish the market. Plus grow the holidays - in terms of hotels etc.

I wouldn't nesscarily say Leeds is up there. Look at Marrakech as an example. Glasgow got first dibs above Leeds with both Leeds/Newcastle joining in the winter months alongside Birmingham, Stansted and Manchester.

I would say it's all dependent on a number of things but primarily the market it's self from each base, what Jet2 can acquire in terms of Hotels etc, what the local competition is if any, airport what it can also handle etc. Go to big and it fails, Go to small and it falls, there is just a niche spot to hit.

Samos was one from Birmingham and Manchester for Summer 26. One suspects Stansted and Bristol will be the next two Samos destinations for Summer 27.
