Cladding looks very 1960's.

you know what, with the colour on etc and I'm sure when the sign gets put on, I think it looks good. Perfect? No. Modern? No. but I think its looks perfectly adequate. I would love for one day the canned plans/brand new terminal to go ahead. Not long until it is due to open all being well.

Hopefully the new terminal experience will eventually quash the haters / other airport lovers boring narrative/ repetitical digs at LBA trying to use it as a valid excuse to reopened their failed airport.

Tell you what, im loving them graphics on the side of the extension, very funky and really does break up the all grey, a variety of suitable colours used which gives it a modern look but not cheap.
Together with the air bridge which il admit i knew nothing about our terminal extension will look great!

The graphics and the darker grey full length stripe really breaks up the grey, many including myself were jumping to conclusion before the extension had been completed but its looking good so far.

I think it will look better again with the sun on it in the morning rather than behind it. It should look good even when it's cloudy too.

They're actually 2 weeks behind after the snow in January. Most of the work now is indoor, so the weather makes little difference.

Construction of the new stands commences at the end of April. Stands 21A-C will be closed for 2 weeks, then 21A and B will reopen with a non-standard parking configuration. 21C will remain closed until the stands are complete

This seems positive news. Stands aren’t cheap and only make sense as an investment if they bring in revenue from the aircraft / passengers using them. Hopefully this means the airport have received positive noises from airlines / tour operators about growth prospects

Does anybody know how long it takes to build the stands? (Most likely been mentioned before but forgot!)

Also it will be good for the airport to have spare stands for busy days and also some contingency for diverts etc (rare I know!) but obviously good for airlines if nearby Leeds can accommodate!

I believe they can be operational fairly quickly, say by September.
