I must say they are shocking worse than Eastern. Dublin cancelled Belfast airport delay and Edinburgh cancelled today.
Sat in airport waiting to go to Belfast.
Me and the boy went to the cockpit as we boarded first and spoke to pilot.
Reason for delay was the aircraft was late last night 1am and Belfast city had closed so it went to international which meant they had to go and fly it from there to city and then onto Leeds. Apparently there were a few issues that needed sorting prior to departure!
So i will retract my earlier comment

More problems with Aer Lingus today. Not been a good weekend by the looks, hope they can get on top of things. Not good for passengers
You can't hope to sell a connecting service via Dublin unless you have a reliable service.
An ATR is always going to be problematic for weather reasons so the last thing they need to add to the problem is a/c availability issues.

The Dublin flights all operated. It was the Belfast flights that had problems with two cancelled and one late.

Have there been any issues today with Aer Lingus flights? My sister has been bumped from her DUB-LBA flight as it was over booked apparently and has been put on a Manchester flight. Was wondering if there'd been any cancellations or anything like that?

Aer Lingus have revised its Winter 2025/2026 schedule. Leeds/Bradford will continue to see up to 42x weekly flights on its two routes to Belfast City & Dublin. All flights will continue to be operated by Aer Lingus Regional Franchise operator Emerald Airways using ATR72-600 aircraft.

Belfast City = 25x weekly (4x daily Mon, Thu-Fri, Sun & 3x daily Tue-Wed, Sat

I would love them to introduce Cork which seems to be expanding. We could use something to southern Ireland .

I've noticed that the only onwards flights offered from Dublin when flying from Leeds are to the USA.

I can understand that flights to Europe wont be all that popular (flying west to Dublin to fly back east) but Im sure theres a demand and surely theyve nothing to lose from an Aer Lingus perspective. Their fares from Dublin to Europe seem very competitive. Maybe they are avoiding conflict with BA?

Yes don't want pax being taken away from the LBA-LHR route now do we.............

I think the English saying is - I wouldn’t touch them with a barge pole! I think the way they have let down their staff at the Man base is appalling. In addition from LBA, there are alternatives to Dublin and Belfast so they won’t get my custom I’m affraid. If I went transatlantic (it would be Canada only, who would visit the US at the moment🤔) I would go via Amsterdam.

I dont know the details of what happened at Manchester, I just heard the staff wanted parity with their colleagues in Ireland. There must be more to it than that. If I were to guess I would say the union issues were used as a pretext to cease loss making operations.

Except by all accounts it was making a profit.
Thats not what I heard. The difficulty must be that if Manchester IAG employees are paid more then those at other locations would want more. I suppose the cost of living is higher in Eire so maybe parity isnt justified- who knows?

I just checked and same applies from MAN, only North America on offer.

I was looking at a flight to MUC, its cheaper to buy a ticket LBA-DUB and a separate DUB-MUC than to use Lufthansa direct from MAN. Trouble is I dont travel without a 'through' ticket.

LBAYorkie the Aer Lingus was making a profit of about 3 Million per Aircaft and Flights over World cup were well booked as well so I`m sure there is more to it but staff have not even been told they are redundent yet

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
