Seems to be only changing the avatar. I thought it was a photo block?
Quoting myself - I see a full image shows when you select featured content. Do you think that would work better on it's own tab instead or as well as on What's New?

For my "twopenny worth", I think the forum looks fine.
I am a desktop user except when I am away and I use a tablet. I rarely use my phone.

Well here are the stats. You're in the minority as 67.4% of all users of the forum now use mobile devices to view the forum. When you joined the forum it was about 50/50.

Many thank for doing a wonderful job in getting the website back yup and running, it's much appreciated. May I ask a question, when looking on the Leeds Bradford Airport forum page it used to list the latests posting near the top with a red new symbol making it easy to see the latest posting. I may well be doing something wrong but can't see to get that view now as dates seemed to be all mixed up with older entries. If I click 'Whats New' at the top of the page it then brings up the new postings for all airports. I then have to scroll through the entries to find LBA postings. Am I doing something wrong or will this be rectified with future updates. Your help would be much appreciated.

Yes I see what you mean. It shows the "NEW" on the homepage but not on the posts inside the individual forums. I know some of the prefix images aren't working yet in BETA but they are in the old version but I think it's something @Ashley.S. is still working on but thank you for the feedback. If you see anything else please let us know.

Hi all,

As part of our ongoing maintenance, we have successfully updated the forum software and removed the Portal2 add-on.

During the process, we discovered a bug in the Portal2 software that had been severely clogging up our disk space. This unexpected bloat was the underlying reason we were forced to prune older forum attachments recently.

Because removing this buggy software has reclaimed a significant amount of storage, we are now in a position to increase the attachment limit for all users. We are still working out the exact technical details and what the new limit will be, but we wanted to share this positive turn of events with you.

Stay tuned for the final figures, and thank you for your continued support!

Let me see if I can restore the new indication to make it clearer which ones have new posts

I was thinking it might look a bit more cohesive if we tweaked the blue text in the 'new' column, maybe changing it to black or making it a colour match with the logo? Just curious if the whole site is going to use this colour scheme, as a more uniform look could work really well.

It's best not to start mixing the colours, not only does it start getting complex but it starts messing with the flow of the forums. I am thinking more and more about a whole new look for the forum but I do feel like the forum index is fine as it is as the widgets need to stand out themselves.

What is your idea?

I showed you two potential new styles. I am looking at the colour palette for the forum index, but because the style has an automatic light/dark mode, the customisations have to be carefully considered and inputted correctly otherwise it'll mess up both styles.

Not being critical or maybe I just do not understand. I just tried the Style Variation button Ashley but nothing happens except an Oops something went wrong message. Perhaps as I said, I maybe misunderstanding things. Forgive me please if that is the case and it is still !work in progress!.

Try refreshing your browsers cache and cookies to see if it helps. It might be a small blip as it works for me.

I've cleared the cache and deleted cookies and I still get the same Oops in both Firefox (main browser) and Edge.. Any other things to try, not that I intend to use dark mode but just reporting a problem Ashley. When trying to post this reply got the following "
"Oops! We ran into some problems. Please try again later. More error details may be in the browser console."

I use edge but it works for me. Are you using a laptop or mobile device?

I'm currently unable to reproduce the issue on my PC. Tried with Edge and Firefox and no problems at all.

I don't know what I might be doing wrong then. I'll scratch my head some more and see if the resulting splinters tell me anything. Thanks for trying though. Sorry to trouble you.

No trouble at all, I'd rather know about a potential bug, than not know nothing at all 😉

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
