Just flown Thomas Cook down to AYT last Friday on the flying pig YL-LCL. Delayed 1hr 30 going out. 2-3 seats spare. Flew back from DLM to BHX on Monday night. 2hr 20 mins delay as YL-LCL had gone tech so they switched G-TCDK from LPA to DLM. 140 pax on board back to Brum....Nice and roomy on a 221 seater. For completeness, 178 pax got off G-TCDK at DLM.

Cheers

Will do.

It's been a while since I've been to Greece but I've always enjoyed it when I have been in the past. With the kids being so little I think this time of year is ideal, as said not too hot.

We're off to Malaga in October with Norwegian, looking forward to trying them out (y)

When are you flying out? I'm crewing for the sunny heart lol

Evening all,

Flew BHX-BFS on the 20.45 flight last night. All 156 seats taken. Flew back to BHX this afternoon on the EZY195...again all 156 seats taken. Wasn't expecting Sunday nights flight to be full when it was a bank holiday the next day. Good business!!

Cheers

Great to see but it does baffle me when we have a route which does so well and there x 2 winter routes do well, but Easyjet are not interested in BHX.

The question has to be WHY ?

Flybe were more expensive. I had to be in Belfast, so no choice. Harbour airport much better though as it's downtown.
Shame ryanair don't start BFS....it would bring the prices right down!

Cheers

Brum X - We have all asked this question but in all honesty the answer to this lies with Easyjet themselves. Maybe they think they have enough UK bases and do not want to water-down those currently in existence. That's their prerogative.

However, what i can't understand is why they haven't extended their flight operations into BHX from bases outside the UK. It would appear they do very, very well on the services to Belfast, Grenoble and Geneva.

Too often we think that services from UK airports are there for UK pax. While this may well hold credence with 'bucket and spade' destinations this is not the case with mainland European cities -- an area where Easyjet are well entrenched.

I have never understood why they have not exercised this strategy.

Ryanair do pull in passengers despite their reputation and I think the route might well be able to sustain a third carrier looking at the fact that your flight was full despite the prices.

They will be growing their BFS operation in the coming months and could choose to compete with easyJet in the UK market, as they already do at LGW, so one to keep an eye on.

Recently went on my annual sabbatical to Pafos. Flew Monarch on Wed 4th May and returned Tue 31st May. Whilst there saw the postings, as well as local press re Cobalt. If my experience this year is any guidance then I cannot see them rushing to fly from BHX. The outbound Monarch had my pre-booked seat re-allocated "for weight distribution on take off". The aircraft was possibly 33% full. The return flight was marginally better at about 66% full. The old adage holds true use it or lose it. Saw not a lot from the balcony, but definitely no wide bodied Russin flights. Experience at BHX security was not good, I know we were there at the same time as the 380, but that should not have been a surprise - just glad had slack in my timetable. Did not experience the press reported 3 hours to clear Cypriot security. Return was ok, flying on the Tuesday meant Pafos was relatively quiet, whilst on arrival at BHX my passport failed me again - that is four times in a row!!
Next trip could be on the 380

Abolutely correct Jon. The system just does not accept me as the person in the picture, so it is a short walk to see the man at the desk who puts passport in machine, says that's ok and I am on my way.

Morning all,

Just boarding G-TCDZ to Dalaman. 200 pax on board. Security a breeze....no more than 2-3 mins in total. Very busy at the airport with the morning rush.

Hope for an on time departure, however there seems to be an issue with a few passengers.....here we go.

Cheers

Karl

If you are in seat 8F then I apologise if the window blind is broken. My youngest found a great game in pulling it up and down to stop us looking out of the window

Have a great time.

These were taken on my phone so may not be the best.

Over a cloudy Northern Europe.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
