Turkish has had plenty of time to launch from bristol - already have two operators ( if they last) and tbh it’s not setting the world on fire with demand - easyJet not on sale post March and Pegasus had planned 4 weekly this winter then quickly dropped back to three. Focus should be on getting Frankfurt back then Dubai.

On a more positive front - definite need for 20 now - an example on a sat pm aim August - chq, pap, dlm, Fao, fue, Lpa ,
Ibz , pmi, agp, mla, rak, nap, Ncl, nce, cdg, opo, rho, ssh, skg and zth. Plenty of time for changes ( many routes could be operated by easyjet Europe for example )

If true it be a shame - strange tho they are increasing to 3 weekly from December. I always take x posts with a pinch of salt tho. If they do drop maybe Pegasus will increase or maybe Turkish may come. Either way we are not seeing loads like the likes of Bhx , man or edi anyway

I do not think this is about not being able to compete. The EZY IST from MAN, from hearsay, had good load factors. These routes were primarily run for EasyJet Holidays. But I suppose maintaining a package operation for two destinations is not very efficient. With such large cuts to routes by EZY (and RYR) IST would have been low hanging fruit.

At least it isn't Pegasus dropping the route. It would be a big shame to loose another airline. Hopefully they can grow the route over time
It would be interesting to know how many of the passengers using Pegasus have Istanbul as they're destination or are connecting onwards.

Since the route was announced, most of the marketing seems to have focused on connections. Lots of ads for the route have appeared recently which must have been fairly costly for Pegasus. Whether this is because they want more people connecting or because it's the primary market, I'm not sure.

Istanbul doesn’t feel like much of a package destination. We used the flight earlier in the year and a few that we spoke to were doing a weekend break like we did as it was new destination on the BRS EZY network and offered a fairly unique destination and the return was well priced. Someone sat next to me was flying for reasonably priced dental work!

It's a city break destination but I do think it appeals to a certain audience someone looking for something different.
It's also not a short flight and for an airline like Easyjet it might be more profitable using their aircraft to a package destination like Antalya rather than a city like Istanbul but I do also wonder if there maybe some sort of subsidy involved from the Turkish authorities and maybe that's ended.

Looks like MUC and ZRH have been made year-round destinations with S26 flights now showing on the easyJet website. MUC will be 4x weekly (Mo, We, Fr, Su) and ZRH 2x weekly (Mo, Fr).
I haven't checked for any other changes yet, but this looks like aircraft number 20 is required for S26:
18x A320s (+1 on S25)
2x A321s

Sharm , hurghada go twice weekly all summer , Berlin increases to six weekly and there’s lots of seasonal ( month or two ) extra frequencies to the likes of Marrakech , Madrid , Naples for example. Many services such as Chania, Santorini , Tivat also start much earlier - April or May

New routes - Bari , Sal and Seville

Although a long way off next winter, there are several changes on some of the newer routes or routes that were continued through this winter according to the EZY app.

Almeria not on sale after 19th Sep
Antalya not on sale for next winter (was 2 weekly this winter)
Bilbao 1 weekly Nov & Dec
Lyon reduced to 1 weekly
Zurich not on sale after 18th Sep
Murcia RMU reduced to 1 weekly (from 2)
Athens remains at 2pw
Malta remains at 2pw (3pw in Dec)
Munich seems to finish on 23rd Oct with 3 flights on sale around Christmas

Also, some of the summer routes seem to be returning a week ahead of the clock change with Catania and Dalaman showing for tomorrow.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
