If that's true it will be a nightmare for scheduling, not to mention the shortage of aircraft.

Well there's two spare B757s at MAN, so they will just close the reservations off at 235 pax as I wouldn't think at this stage they have in excess of 300 pax booked on any of their flights.

Jet2 will continue to run Toulouse into summer 2016 after it looked like it may have been cut.

Jet2 seem to have bowed to the pressure on Vienna, cutting it in January now that Easyjet have announced a 3 weekly service in November and Austrian will start a daily flight in September.

It's a shame for jet2 after they took the mantle and started an unserved route from MAN, but, realistically, 3 carriers was never going to work.

I was hoping Jet2 holidays could have bolstered the route against Easyjet, but, maybe brand awareness overall has won, given the fact Easyjet have some steep fares on the route already.

Just been doing an up to date check on LS for S 16

They have quietly been adding flights over the last few weeks. Taking August as the comparison month at present we are 25 departures up on S15.

PMI now has 21 flights per week. Not quite 3 per day because Friday and Sunday have 4 departures.

On Sunday morning on the first wave there are now 18 departures by based aircraft and 1 by a non based. Many days see 16 departures on the first wave.

How many based aircraft are there going to be and where are they going to put them all.

There are 16 based this summer, and there will be 18 based next summer. 17 of those will be Jet2 aircraft and then the usual B757 from privilidge style.

Further to my previous post and to pick up on User001 a further check reveals that there will in fact be only 16 departures in the first wave of based aircraft for Sunday not 18 as I posted . The increase is 23 and 199 departures a week.

There will likely be more changes as MAN has been asked to provide 18 spaces for jet2 overnight.

So, with MAN being Jet2s largest base, will the new aircraft mean a change of strategy when it comes to winter operations?

The fact that Jet2 have owned all their aircraft means that winter time they can park them up to save money. With the new aircraft arriving and on finance, this could mean they have to start using the aircraft more in winter.

MAN is trying hard to balance out the seasonality of MAN, so, this could be potentially good news that more passengers could soon be using MAN in the winter?

Jet2 will now be at least 17 based aircraft next summer at Manchester, and that's even before any back up aircraft are accounted for.

Latest increases include 4 daily to Palma on most days, 3 daily to Heraklion on Wednesdays, 2nd daily Funchal on Mondays and extra Faro flights.

The latest timetable update added a further 10 flights to the schedule.

Likely to be 19 based if back up aircraft are to be used.

MAN operational based fleet for summer 16;

733 - 7
738 - 4
752 - 5
Titan A321 - 1

A total of 17 a/c.

A large increase from jet2 at MAN this summer.

Jet2 are now selling city breaks to NYC. Assume they are the carrier, but don't know for sure!

Hi Dobbo

Jet2 have been doing various charter style long weekend trips to the States for a few years now. Similar flights also operate to New York from Leeds Bradford, Newcastle and I think East Midlands airports.

Jet2 have added a new ski route to Sofia from December, and added a 2nd weekly flight on the Turin route. That's 49 routes now, quite impressive but given jet2 had the head start at MAN, Easyjet is catching up fast with 44 routes.

Jet2 are reported to be dropping Chambery as a ski destination next winter as the airport there has been subject to unacceptable levels of disruption. So some of the additional frequencies to alternative ski destinations will be aircraft redeployed from the former route to CMF.

So after the failed attempt to lease an Air Asia X A330 last year, Jet2 are giving A330 ops another go next summer.

The lease seems to be confirmed, if you search MAN-PMI LS831/832 next summer on Saturdays, it's an A332 config.

That's just 2 of the flights loaded so far. It's just I don't have the time to go through the entire schedule to see where else the A330 is used.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
