Be glad to see the airport being busy again and Thomas Cook return in February. Odd that nothing really happens during January.

Compared to where we were 10 years ago, this winter has been very busy so far. One Sunday there were 4 Ryanairs lined up next to each other. I am sure certain airports would give their eye teeth to have the weekend traffic we have.

We seem to be agreed on a 757 working this Summer then, whether it be Thomas Cook's own or a Monarch. That's a good deal of extra capacity over 2011.

I don't know if this is correct or if something has gone wrong, But it seems that we have 2x Thomas Cook flights operating to Tenerife on Friday morning. So at a guess booking must be going good..

The Leeds based Airbus A320 aircraft is due to operate the 10:55, TCX8014 departure to Tenerife. But I now notice that we also have a second Thomas Cook aircraft positioning in from Glasgow at 06:25 as TCX146P to operate a 07:15, TCX3146 departure also to Tenerife.

I have recently booked a holiday with TCX to Arrecife and on the booking confirmation it is currently showing the an A320 but this is for the 2nd of April so hopefully all could change in summer

If a flight is coming in from Glasgow, does this mean it will either be a 752 or 753 coming in cause isn't that all TCX have got up at Glasgow

Yep, I think your right Channex 757!

It looks as though it's either Glasgow's based:
B752 G-FCLF or
B753 G-JMAB(WL)

One of these will be joining the based TCX A320 on Friday, presuming LBA's Deps/Arrs boards are correct and this isn't a mistake.

I think it will be the B752 but I'm guessing...it'd be nice to see a B753 come into Leeds...has a B753 ever come into Leeds?

Don''t think I have ever seen one, but given the weather forecast, I will be happy if either of them turn up - snow forecast again.

Thomas Cook (or possibly JMC, depending on when it was) did once send a 757-300 to LBA some years ago. It had to park on stand 14 owing to the extra fuselage length. Even stand 8 couldn't accommodate it.

The based a320 G-KKAZ has positioned out to AKROTIRI (Santorini I think) this afternoon according to the LBA departure board.

does anyone know if its doing a special charter flight out there?

Hi

I think you'll find that Akrotiri is the RAF base in Cyprus. I understand aircraft is doing an MOD charter to Hanover tomorrow before positioning back into Leeds in the evening.

There was a similar flight last week too, as I saw that the Thomas Cook was positioning back in from Hanover one day last week

hi all
i have just been informed that all the tickets comeing thro to the travel agents for spring 2012 are showing a 320 not a 757 anybody any info.

Hi Snowman 1,

Isn't it a little bit too soon for tickets to be arriving in the travel agents for spring? Usually you get your tickets just a couple of weeks before you travel don't you? The A320 is currently the aircraft operating the Thomas Cook routes at the moment so it will depend on whether they intend to upgrade the aircraft when the summer season kicks in.

PS. Love your avatar!! ;)

Hi Snowman1,
When you say that tickets that are been issued show Thomas Cook flights from Leeds/Bradford been operated by Airbus A320's in spring, Do you mean operating throughout March & April? If so, that is still classed as the winter charter season.

I understood that if Boeing 757-200 was to be based at Leeds it wouldn't be until the Summer Charter flights commences, which is from May 1st.

It’s not been confirmed yet by Thomas Cook as to what's aircraft type they are going to base at Leeds this summer. So yeah we may end up with the Airbus A320 again but at least it wont be a loss or a gain in capacity but better than nothing I suppose. Also the based aircraft's flying programme is still to be finalised

If i hear anything official, I'll let you all know as soon as possible.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
