Are you saying there is a LBA-LHR rumour, or that Dresden was ex LHR?
If its the first, can you say more?

If they wanted to do LBA-EWR or anywhere else-EWR for that matter they would have made aircraft available whether they flew to Bristol or not.
On the face of it Bristol was a good choice. The West Country is a huge tourist destinations for Americans - Bath is almost as close to BRS as Bristol is - and at times you can't move in Bath for American visitors and that's no exaggeration.
Bristol is also a very big business centre.
Where Leeds will score over Bristol is in its relative distance from London.
Bristol in some ways is a distant outer suburb of London and many in the Bristol area regard LHR as long haul airport of choice.
Nevertheless, that's not to say that someone like Jet2 might not try NYC more regularly from LBA.

I know the 400 series is twice the capacity of the 200 series, but correct me if I'am wrong, isn't there a Dash 8 on the ground from 2pm on a Saturday? Plenty of time for a return trip to GCI(Guernsey).
You could say the same for Leeds though. Yorkshire is also a big tourist destination; not just for the three National Parks accessible from Leeds, but for big tourist centres like York and Harrogate- comparable to Bath.
Leeds is a bigger business centre than Bristol, and as you say is further from London.
So by that assesment, if transatlantic flights from Bristol can be a success, Leeds should have no problem.
The scale of operations are not always refective of the size of the airport. Airports are a small business and depend on what
the investors are willing to invest into them.
