I think in these challenging and slightly depressing times this is much needed humour. However we know this has to be in moderation which we all agree is fair. There are absolutely no puns in this post and bringing things back on thread topic this does start to sound like the most positive news in a long while and boy can we use positivity just now. So here's hoping this isn't another false start.

This statement.was included today in a series of announcements by the West Yorks Combined Authority.

Leeds
A commitment to a new Leeds Bradford Airport Parkway Train Station will serve the airport, making way for smoother transport for travellers, and for those commuting to work. This will further support Leeds Bradford Airport’s Vision 2030, backed by £200 million in private investment, to improve passenger experience as the airport reaches an anticipated seven million passengers a year by 2030 and the creation of up to 5,500 new jobs.
I believe it's just confirming that it will go in to the 2040 Transport Plan (rather than any concrete movement/funding)

Just had a quick read of the new station after horsforth and before bramhope South portal and it will be used by commuters so no doubt Scotland Lane will get busier so double whammy for people on there!

I doubt it because LCC have already proposed to close Scotland Lane as a cut through which would be fine if they sorted out the main roads to the airport but they chose to can the link road.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
