The static cameras do jot cover all roads so they have a mobile camera doing the rounds from 4 am till midnight. Round and round it goes.

Thank you for that, Kraktoa.

I haven't been to the airport for a while so today whilst out walking around the local villages I returned from Cleeve via the 54 bus service that terminates at BRS. That gave me the opportunity wander into the terminal.

At the eastern end is a check-in extension to the main hall. The extension was one of the early add-ons to the new terminal that was opened over 20 years ago. It seems to be used exclusively for Jet2 and Ryanair. A new entrance is being built that appears to give direct access to the extension from outside. Currently it is reached via the main departures doors.

Was surprised to see a To Let sign on Lulsgate House office block at the Silver Zone right on the A38. Is it new sign.

The office block was built just a few years as an administrative bldg for the airport. Why letting the entire building now as office space. Makes no sense.

There's been a 'To Let' sign on the building for a long time. I assume it's for excess accommodation in the office block not needed by the airport.

Was it part of the planning permission for that office block that an airport building could then become another money spinner for the company?

As far as I know it was part of the 2011 planning permissions. I'm guessing the permission was for the building type rather than tying it down to a particular user. I'm sure that NSC would be down on the airport very quickly if they were contravening their planning consents.

I'm trying to remember the exact wording of the sign. Is it something like 'Office to let' or 'Offices to let'?

Just wondering with the current development plans up to 12 million - is there plans for any more parking gates on the apron - I’m thinking is there space for an airline or two to maybe base more from next summer ?

Certainly changed since my solo visit back in 1969 when I was permitted to drive, unescorted, in my old Mini, from the terminal to the flying school. Sitting at the threshold for 27 ,whilst checking for any landing traffic, was quite an experience. Those days can never be repeated.

Afaik 2 more have been built next to 26 and 35, taking the total to 38. There doesn't seem to be much/any space for more though

I'd have thought Bristol would be pretty much at maximum based aircraft wise and that expansion would come more through bigger aircraft and non based flights.

There was a post recently on linkedin about the completion of a new stand and new gate area. I can't find the original post now but it seemed to be on the Western end.

While we're on the subject of gates, does anyone know if the airport still intend on installing air bridges?
I am back after a big break.

No plans for air bridges at all. But the coach interchange is coming along nicely at the front. Will be commissioned in 4 weeks time.

Lots of talk about Pegasus airlines expanding at BRS.

Does anyone know any details. Presumably they are all Turkish destination flights. But how many more can they realistically add per week.

Any one heard any news about Middle Eastern Big 3 and Bristol tie ins.

This is always in the cards but the noises lately are much stronger within the airport circles.

Welcome back! It’ll be nice to have some more conversation on the BRS forum

Re the ME3, if Bristol did secure one, surely air bridges would need to be a pre requisite? I cant think of anywhere in the UK where they don’t connect via a bridge.. I always thought Bristol had these in their plans?

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
