It will work great, if you only have 8 people at a time (as shown). However I think that the demand will be significantly higher than that, with queueing likely.

No, all year round especially at peak times.Christmas queues
With no baggage, children, pushchairs, wheelchairs! It will work great, if you only have 8 people at a time (as shown). However I think that the demand will be significantly higher than that, with queueing likely.
Failure to address this could turn people off from using the airport.
The area around 8C is closed as they are basing all the portacabins and equipment there for the next phase of stand realignment. In other news, stand 8C is now closed with hoardings up and road diversions in place already. I can only assume this is for the new covered holding area they are building. I didn’t expect work on this to start so soon!
The road diversions are already causing a few long diversions for buses collecting pax at stands 12 and 13, with buses having to go all the way to north and double back on themselves as they can’t make the right turn towards gate 7. As you could imagine, pax are not best pleased, but it is what it is.
Not sure what the timeframe on this project is, but they have been doing really well with the standardised stands project. They have been completing each phase in quite a timely manner, so I would expect the same from this next phase.
You forgot to mention the 16 stone pratt who rushes up as the doors are closing and presses the button to reopen them saying "room for a little one".With no baggage, children, pushchairs, wheelchairs!
The dwell time of those lifts is going to be significantly longer.
The tenders have just gone out for a construction company to be picked for the new HS2-NEC-Airport monorail.Anyway I have a question. It was mentioned by a member but can't remember whoin an earlier post that the existing monorail is or will be closed I'm sure in the original extention plans there was a new monorail that would be built linking the HS2,NEC, Birmingham International and the airport with the monorail terminating at the old Eurohub. Is that still the case and if so what is the means of descending down and up
You'd have to pay me to go to eitherhow they can define themselves as restaurants is beyond me.
Each to their own I suppose.
I don't think the airport has any interest in viewing facilities. I'm not sure if it's true, but many years ago I heard that there is a local by-law requiring the airport to provide such facilities, but not saying what the facilities must be. Hence, the minimalist bus shelter and a few benches that are provided. Years ago, the long stay car park would be chock-a-block with families (particularly Saturdays and Sundays) spending several hours watching the planes. The current car parking prices now make this very expensive.
What by-law is Airport Action alleged to have broken?
Should be completed for the start of the summer 2024 season is what i have been told.Stands 1 to 7 are not being realigned this side of the new year as when the moved the taxiway yankee centerline amd realigned the euro hub remotes as jet2 still have aircraft on stands 1 to 3 for a good few weeks and someone at the airport has told me that 1 to 7 are not being done currently
I asked what by-law was allegedly broken, not when.Believe it was one of the streams last week
Not just BHX.There is no proper viewing facilities inside airport boundaries at LHR,LGW ,STN,LTN either.I don't think the airport has any interest in viewing facilities. I think the airport and council need to get involved in sorting out viewings areas.Ok we Have R15 which is popular.R33 no much view at all unless ur AA(You tube) and stand on a public path which he got in trouble for last week due to bylaws which he never broke at all.
We need to sort viewing locations that’s the most important thing in my area of opinion
I’m afraid… If it’s not a money earner it’s not going to happenNot just BHX.There is no proper viewing facilities inside airport boundaries at LHR,LGW ,STN,LTN either.
