Enabling works for the HS2 people mover to start in 2026. It will be about 2 years before HS2 arrive on site.

This image of the people mover stop is just hideous. I really hope that it's either indicative or there will be plans to redo T2 and integrate them both at some point 😬

Remember years ago when I used to attend meetings at BHX, HS2 albeit in early stages, there was some debate as to whether the 'mover' would end just short of T2, or be integrated. Matters will have moved on since. However if anything like yesterday, rather than wait in the chaos outside the terminal for a taxi, I elected to go over to BIS and take a taxi from there. Arriving at BIS, both up and down escalators out of order, plus lift immediately next to escalators u.s😔 Stairs and 1 lift only!! Now imagine that scenario if same happened if they built similar 'Terminal for Mover' outside T2!! Welcome to BHX😒

What I expect to happen is that they will eventually put up some sort of cheap supermarket covered walkway like the one we have now.

If we’re really, really lucky, they might put in some canopies like the ones that used to be outside the terminal where the new lifts are now.

I noticed the other day that there was construction going on in the south terminal, does anyone know what’s happening and is the all bar one now closed ?
It does feel a bit deserted in the terminal currently

T2 arrivals is being reworked (along with baggage belts as Ian has said) and won't be open again until March.

Not travelled recently but if All Bar One has closed I hope it's just for a refit as in the peak summer that is my little sanctuary. Unless they're moving to one of the new units in what was once the old security area?

Just a refit for All Bar One

Pier B is looking better opened up with the old wall beyond gates 56/57 removed. However they have just put up a new wall directly in front of 56/57, so in effect moved the old wall forwards... But the signage is a lot better for 56/57 now as it was always poor before.

The old kids play area by gate 55 is currently all boarded up for something.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
