Re: British Midland International (BMI)
Yeah I agree with you on that one Aviador.
I would hazard a guess it's going to be a sad day for bmi regional ops up at LBA tomorrow. Especially in the evening when both the Edinburgh and Glasgow routes depart back to Scotland for the very last time, They have operated both routes for many a years now.
Just to think back 4 /5 years ago, bmi had upto 5 based aircraft at LBA, Compromising 4x Embrear regional jets and an Airbus A319/320. Operating successful services to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Paris Cdg, London Heathrow, Cork, Jersey, Copenhagen and lastly not forgetting the Brussels service which continues for now. I wont even mention that ill fated Lille service!
How times have changed?
Aviador said:Looks like the standard press release when an air route is lost from any airport with quote "actively seeking a replacement airline to provide flights". Flybe and Eastern Airways seem like the obvious choice replacement but it appears the airport has had little success at persuading either of them to operate the route so far.
