Following Ryanair's decision to leave Belfast City Airport Flybe has announced it will fly up to 4 times daily LPL-BHD from 31 October 2010.

Seems a sensible decision, it's a far more suitably sized aircraft for the route.

I hope that they don't expect to get the same number of passengers as they will not be able to offer "low Ryanair fares".

I wonder if it might have been slightly better to not do 3 AMS services but something along the lines of either

1. LPL-CDG-LPL-BRU-LPL-AMS-LPL

Gives links to 3 capitals with not so much pressure in keeping cheap seats available, and take further expansion slowly but surely with added frequencies to some/all of those destination but also look at a link to Dusseldorf/Munich, or

2

Do away with the flaw with the initial single daily service which is the the inability to do a same-day return by getting 2 aircraft in doing this kind of operation@

aircraft 1: LPL-CDG-LPL-BRU-LPL-AMS-LPL
aircraft 2: LPL-AMS-LPL-DUS or MUC-LPL-CDG-LPL

Not sure what would be a better German link for Liverpool.

Day returns into 2 important business and leisure destinations going directly into peak hubbing times for connections. Throw in a codeshare with Air France for CDG, Cathay Pacific for CDG and AMS, and Etihad for AMS. KLM codesharing would be outside the scope of the agreement KLM has with their unions.

Flybe's schedule from Liverpool in 2018, includes IOM, Belfast City and a weekly summer service to Newquay. It would be good to see them offer more of a range to European destinaions from Liverpool , probably best to destinations they don't clash with FR or EZY

Flybe stated not too long ago that would like to offer a Heathrow to Liverpool route. I wonder what they might do now landing fees have been reduced at LHR, bearing that in mind it would be I interesting to know how their LHR - Scottish services are performing.

From what I've read elsewhere their Heathrow flights seem to be doing ok but Flybe do hardly seem to mention them. If they can get the slots then I definitely could see Flybe expanding at Heathrow. Problem for them will be obtaining slots without having to pay a fortune for them.

It would be good to see this route re establihed and its certanly requested by people and businesses of the city often.Since the 90s when BMA finished , Liverpool has grown in vibrancy with many overseas visitors, so it could be a good time to bring the link back. I imagine Flybe will be watching what BA does at LBA too.

Not sure what flybe is doing on the BHD run, they might be dropping it ( again !) . Here lies a problem with this carrier from LPL, chop n change all the time, however with the mess they are in I expect cuts will happen.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
