Flybe

If Flybe mark2 are to set up a base in Belfast, and presuming this is BHD, I would have thought BHD-LPL was a strong contender form their considerations. The route is vacant, they would have to compete with EZY from BFS, but it's a big market between Liverpool and Belfast, so if they timed it right and performed better than the first Flybe, they could do well .
Emerald have just recently announced the routes they plan to operate to from BHD. Some routes that were done with Stobart air do not appear to be happening such as EMA. Any routes that don’t have competition would be good routes for them to start such as LPL as they won’t have direct competition on those routes. Time will tell.

Quite so, its really not the time for shoot out on routes at the moment.

The main problem they will have is competing with Easyjet between Liverpool and Belfast who operate numerous flights per day. Belfast City will attract different passengers, but if someone wants a cheap ticket to Belfast, I think Easyjet would win in that offering. Flybe need to be a bit cleverer than their earlier operation.

I tend to think that the Easyjet flights don’t just cover the Belfast area they can also cover other parts of Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland. For those that are wanting to be in Belfast the most preferable airport is Belfast City so can see room for them if they were to do a BHD base. But I agree Flybe need to do better on this occasion.

Flybe made another visit yesterday morning. Can't be long before something is heard of routes from them I would have thought.

If they do some European routes, the government announcement recently about dropping test requirement upon returning to the UK will help.

I wish FR24 would show it on the movements screens! Please mentally add the necessary numbers to yesterday's logs that I reported!! I normally look for it, but forgot when compiling the figures this morning.

Edited: According to FR24 the Flybe operated in on Monday, but yesterday's training flights were cancelled.

Elsewhere suggested of a BHD to LPL route from Flybe. I have heard rumours, but let's just wait for the long awaited announcement. They could do worse than take on this route however, its a busy sector NI to Liverpool and currently no one offering BHD departures. I'm sure Easyjet will however react, so some careful timings and fares required.

If Flybe were waiting for an opportune time to make an announcement , I think they may well have missed it with current events. Question is how long are they going to wait if they will want to take advantage of Spring / Summer bookings ?

Flybe parked up this afternoon under a nice blue sky in Liverpool! ✈️☀️

Liverpool could be in with a chance of a BHD-LPL route. If I had a wish list for them, i'd add suggest CDG , SOU, NQY. But they don't have many aircraft, so will see.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
