Is it coming in empty from CDG or another base?

I doubt it will be empty.. it will be coming in from CDG first and presume seats will have sold on the inbound

How long has it been stagnant at 4 A319's? If a while one would suggest easy are happy with the current return and profit of the base with no intention to expand.

The last couple of years it’s been 4x A319s at BCN, 2022 saw 2x A319s and 3x A320s, and before that was 4-5x A320s.

Just looked at the seat maps for the inbound and outbound on Monday. There are 80 seats available to book inbound and 38 outbound. The loads could of course be better if folks haven't booked seats. Very promising start especially with current late booking trends possibly meaning more will still sell

Previous info we had indicated better booking numbers than this. There were only 23 free seats on the 15th of October on the outbound.

I could only base things on what I could see so if anyone else would like to check what they see then I will be happy to be corrected if applicable

Rechecked myself just now and still shows 80 physical seat numbers to book inbound and 35 outbound. Still feel these are excellent numbers though for the first flight

It was @alpha.alpha who quoted 23 last week. He could have insider info?

Indeed he may and that's why my original post yesterday said it will basically depend if everyone who are booked on the flights have actually booked specific seats. The best guide I and most others can access are the seat maps. So if anyone does have more accurate insider information then that is far more useful

The Airport Support Group were made aware of easyjet being a key target for the airport business, but being a target doesn't guarantee anything. Are we counting the chics before they have hatched?

I’d love to see a base at LBA but we need to be realistic, easyJet will be a very sought after a target for numerous airports throughout europe and I just don’t see us gaining that level of operation just yet.

Their approach seems to be incremental expansion before fully committing to a base so with the below airports already offering more than our 3 routes and with ever increasing frequency's I see a reopening of their NCL base and potentially a SOU base will more likely be ahead of us.

NCL 8 routes:

easyJet

Amsterdam,[39] Belfast–International, Bristol, Paris–Charles de Gaulle (begins 27 October 2024)[40] Seasonal: Alicante,[41] Geneva,[42] Lyon (begins 4 January 2025),[40] Palma de Mallorca

SOU 7 routes:

easyJet

Alicante, Amsterdam (begins 28 October 2024),[40] Belfast–International, Glasgow Seasonal: Faro,[41] Geneva, Palma de Mallorca[42]

As I’ve said before I don’t think we will be seeing an easyJet base for a good while yet. Yes to more flights through so to test the market.

I suspect they will go after whats works everywhere’s else, so we will most likely follow the Southampton & Newcastle operations with flights been added to the Mediterranean sun & beach destinations. eg Alicante & Palma de Mallorca along with possibly Amsterdam next winter.

But it has been said that reps from easyJet holidays were at the airport recently and somebody else said high up exec’s had been seen at the airport not so long ago.

We've heard several rumours regarding route expansion from LBA in recent weeks (TUI/FR and EZY). So far, none of these have yet materialised. We need to hope this situation will soon change.
