Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

My parents always used to say "why wait until tomorrow to do what you can do today", the same certainly applies to the LBA website.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Hi

This is just an heads up for tomorrow, Monday, November 8th 2010, That Thomson Airlines will be sending a Boeing 767-300WL in to operate the first of 3 x P&O Carribbean cruise charters for this winter 2010/11 season

Arrives @ 08:15 as TOM587F from Manchester
Departs @ 10:30 as TOM892 to Bridgetown-Barbados (Due to operate direct)

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Thanks for reminding us about that one Lbaspotter, it's much appreciated.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Lets hope that the forecast strong winds don't mess things up then. All we need is for them to be across the runway and it could spoil things.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

LBIA seems to be jinxed when it comes to Thomson flights, so I wont be surprised if (or more probably when) it departs ex Manchester tomorrow.

Just you watch, ;)
Now you said that the Thomson, B767-300WL will get in tomorrow morning and suprise us all..

Hey the bookies could start taking bets on this nowa days as it happens so much. You probably get good odds for a Thomson's Leeds service to divert to Manchester on any given day..

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

It should have got in, as the wind, fortunately is blowing straight up the runway from the south east. In fact it is perfect for the TOM to get off on Runway 14, with maximum take off distance.

Yep just like I said last night she got in and out alright. Todays service to Bridgetown-Barbados was operated by ex First Choice Boeing 767-300WL, G-OOAN

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Anyone know where the current based Thomas Cook, Airbus A320 G-SUEW is heading out to tomorrow morning? She is showing up on the website live departures as departing at 10:00 as TCX771G but as normal with the LBA website its to destination Unknown. (Blank)

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Anyone know where tonights Thomas Cook, Airbus A320 operating flight TCX771H is coming in from at 20:00?

As I notice the famous LBIA website is again not showing its destination on its live arrivals page.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Is it the return leg of the flight to Lyon that went out yesterday?

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

I have yet again written to the airport about this, quoting this flight as another example of the inadequacies of the web site. Even though they know what the cause is of the glitch (system input error) it keeps on happening for new destinations. They need to go through the system and input both the IATA and ICAO codes for every airport to resolve this, but somehow I don't think they will do so until someone complains about each occasion it happens.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Hi

White Heather you most have rumbled a few feathers up at LBA with them emails you’ve sent them over the last couple of days.

As guess Whats happened?

Well it looks like someone has taken notices as the TCX771H from Lyon has now appeared on the live arrivals correctly with the destination displayed instead off been blank like usual.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Eastern sent in an Embraer 135 this morning (Think it was G-CGMB)

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Hi, well I wrote to them again yesterday specifically quoting that flight. I got a reply back saying they were dealing with it. I am yet to be convinced it won't keep on happening, but at least they now seem aware fo what they are doing (or, rather not doing) that is causing this to happen.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Hi

This mornings TOM3530 to Tenerife (South) operated by Boeing 737-800WL G-CDZH, departed 1 hour late and has had to operate outbound without enough fuel to get her self down direct due to the cross wind problems here at the moment.

So she will be making a fuel stop at Faro and has a turn around time of 26 minutes. Then when she get to Tenerife she will only have 19 minutes for a turn around before heading back direct to LBA.

As if thats going to happen. I can see a big delay coming on later toninght on the Inbound TOM3531 service.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

I'm asking this question simply because I don't know the answer, but if would I be right to assume if this flight had operated with a 757 or A320 it would have gone with enough fuel to get there? :dunno:

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

It all depends on each specific aircraft's structural limitations.
A 757 has a higher max take off weight by around 30000kg and is about 17000kg heavier at empty mass so it can take a bit more weight. Fully loaded a 757 would need around 1200 more feet to get airborne.
An A320 has very similar figures to the 737-800 in terms of MTOW (max t/o weight) and BEM (basic empty mass) but can get airborne at MTOW after 6900 feet (1200 less than a 738). On that basis a 320 should probably make it out, so should the 757 just.

Looking at the figures (from wikipedia) I can't understand why this flight didn't get up with enough fuel!
Looking at a 737NG manual T/O distance is only reduced by a tailwind so maybe the winds were wildly variable and gusting in silly directions, enough to cause a reduction in take off run, therefore a reduction in weight?!?!
It's probably got nothing to do with the above but maybe more to do with safety limits and the risk of a heavy plane getting blown over by the wind? Who knows!
When I eventually move on to a type rating maybe I'll understand more!

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Well the TCX to TFS also went via FAO so I guess not to Michael's question!

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

I seem to recall major issues with the 738 when Britannia first got a batch and introduced them to leeds. They would by delayed, divert or have to fuel stop all the time!

It is pretty bad that we had A320 & 738 unable to op direct to tfs. Thank god future generations of ac such as the E190 & 787 have fantastic performance from shorter runways.

Hi, I was born and lived in B36 for a long time - Lindale Avenue, just around the corner from Hodge Hill Comp.
I just noticed your postcode on a post.

Do you still live in the area?

49 trips undertaken last year. First done this year which was to North Wales where surprisingly the only slippery surfaces were in Conwy with the castle and it's walls closed due to the ice.
