Thanks!

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Jet2's Boeing 757-200, G-LSAH has is currently doing an Air-Test up to Scotland and back operating as EXS051B.

Also looks like Boeing 757-200, G-LSAI will be returning back to its Manchester home base this evening at 20:00 as EXS041A.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Jet2 Boeing 757-200, G-LSAI has just positioned back to Manchester form Leeds this evening as EXS041A after helping out over the last few days or so.

The EXS052K due in from Budapest tomorrow at 15:00 should see Boeing 737-300QC, G-CELZ returning after having its c-check completed. It looks like it will then be positioned back up to Edinburgh at around 23:00 as EXS053K.
Meanwhile Boeing 737-300QC, G-CELP will be positioned into Leeds from Edinburgh tomorrow night at 22:30 as EXS032E. As it’s due to be the next aircraft booked go to Budapest for its C-check.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

G-GDFL looks as though it is going to Newcastle ex Southend via LBA overhead as EXS 051A.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Just in case anyone hadn't noticed, there is another Alitalia A320 from and to Rome tomorrow, with a scheduled arrival time at LBA of 1300.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

If anyone was wondering as to why 3x Leeds based Jet2 aircraft positioned out this morning, Well i can tell it was due to Newcastle based Boeing 757-200, G-LSAG going tech in Tenerife last night.
2x Boeing 737-300, G-GDFK (EXS042A) & G-GDFK (EXS42TS) have been positioned out to Tenerife to bring back the stranded passengers to the UK. Meanwhile the 4th spare Leeds based Boeing 757-200, G-LSAH was sent up to Newcastle as EXS041A to operate today's flying programme.

The Leeds base will be short of an aircraft later this afternoon for a few hours so a Manchester based aircraft will be positioned over as EXS044A to cover some flights for a while.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Thanks Lbaspotter - but you have stated G-GDFK twice in your post. What is the other 737 involved?

Today's Alitalia student charter (which I assume will be the last) was actually operated by an Air One (Irish registered) A320, which positioned in from Milan Bergamo and returned to Rome from LBA. It was another one for my photo album, but typical that the first chance I get to get a ground photo of the Alitalia and its replaced by Air One!

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Hi Heather.

Yep thanks for pointing that one out, I can tell you that it should have been G-GDFK (EXS042A) & G-CELD (EXS42TS), Sorry about that!

I don't know if you already know, but Air One is now owned by Alitalia. Meanwhile today's student charter flight was the last one for this year and was operated by Airbus A320, EI-DSV.

The main reason for the use of foreign registers in jurisdictions such as Italy is perfection of security. The Italian register does not permit lessors to reposess their aircraft easily in a bankrupcy because of local judicial procedures. It could take a very long time for a lessor to prove its ownership or financial interest ina n aircraft in the Italian court system. In addition there is no efficient recognition of mortgages. The same is also true in Russia.
Ireland has very favourable double taxation treaties with many countries and this, coupled with gererous tax breaks offered by the Irish government, engouraged leasing companies to locate there - particularly in Shannon and the Dublin Doocklands - both of which were heavily subsidised by the government.
Bermuda and Ireland are the most favoured 'flags of convenience' for commercial aircraft. Corporate aircraft are additionally registered in the Isle of Man, Aruba and Cayman as well as the US.

Hope this helps

Really appreciate all the heads up etc. I think G-CELA may have positioned up to Edinburgh this afternoon according to FR24.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Today's Air Europa B738WL is currently on finals for Rwy14 and is in the SkyTeam livery. Reg is EC-JHK, so should be one to snap if anyone's up there within the next hour!

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Germania swapped there Leeds based Boeing 737-700 aircraft which is on summer lease to Jet2 this evening. D-AGET left on the EXS347 service to Dusseldorf while D-AGEQ arrived on the inbound EXS348 service.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.

Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
