Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Just to let people know, due to the Winter Season unofficially commencing today's Thomson flight to Palma was operated by a B757-200series.

The aircraft today was G-OOOX which is currently MAN based and operated both the PMI-LBA (TOM8KW) and LBA-PMI (TOM81H) services.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Jet2 are operating some rescue flights for Thomas Cook from LBA & MAN, I haven't seen which aircraft but a couple may be Jet2 aircraft positioning with TCX call signs/ flight numbers.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Nicholas1992, I think through the transition from Summer to Winter, Thomas Cook are just generally displacing aircraft around.

With regards to the Antalya departure this must have been a computer-input error and the correct Monday departure of TCX8048 0700hrs Las Palmas flight is now showing on the LBA Departure board although the arrival of the Antalya flight remains.... :whiteflag:

Thursday 13/10/11

Quite a few Positioning sectors today by looks off things. So i've decided to list them for you so to try and work out whats been happening operationally wise

The LBA based Thomas Cook A320, G-DHJZ positioned up to GLA this morning as TCX712P and will not return to LBA until at least tomorrow evening on the inbound TCX16FV service from TFS. She will then again position out to EDI as TCX850P.

Humberside based charter airline, Links Air have changed there BAe Jestream 31 aircraft around for there Manx2 operation this evening at LBA

G-EIGG Arrived From IOM = LNQ38L - Positioned to HUY = LNQ300P
G-CCPW Positioned from Norwich = LNQ100D - Departed to Iom = LNQ39L

bmi regional have had some problems today and did some moving around of the fleet as follows.

LBA based ERJ135, G-RJXK positioned up to EDI last night as BD9131 so left no aircraft for this mornings BD1611 to BRU.
EMA based, ERJ135, G-RJXP positioned in as BD1233 to operate the BD1611 to BRU. The inbound BD1612 was Cancelled and pax put onto other service's.
This afternoon NCL based, ERJ145, G-RJXI positoned in as BD9141 to operate the BD1615 service to BRU. Then LBA based ERJ135, G-RJXK has returned back on the BD1616 service tonight.

Friday 14/10/11

This mornings flybe.com Southampton BE171/172 service was operated as a double load via Newcastle for some reason using Dash 8-Q400, G-JEDR.

This evenings flybe service BE175/176 is been upgraded to an Embrear 195. But will now be operating as a double load with the Manchester BE873/874 Southampton service. No reg as yet. But will update once i have the info

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Sorry, I don't LBAYorkie.

It looks like G-LSAJ is now at LBA after swapping down-route in Palma with G-LSAH. G-LSAH is now operating the 602 route into EMA and G-LSAJ operating the 258 route into LBA.

Yep, with regards to the 271 Alicante route, 2 737's were used again. G-CELH operated the LS271 and G-GDFA operated the 271A(71C) services. G-GDFA will return to LBA (with some passengers as well) as LS271A(72C).

The reasoning behind this is; G-LSAI operated into MAN this morning LS045A which left LBA, yet again a 757 down. G-LSAB to my knowledge operated the 185 AGP flight as normal.
G-LSAI is heading to Paphos operating the 937 flight from MAN. I think MAN had a tech issue with one of it's based 757's.

I think this may lead to a delayed 757 service this evening as a result, or Jet2 may position in a free 757 to take over the remaining 757 duties for this afternoon/evening.

Has anyone got info about the F16 flypast (s) tomorrow?

Not very well publicised but there is supposed to be a whole host of aircraft paying a visit to LBA tomorrow for the special 80th anniversary event. It's disappointing the airport PR team haven't been pushing this positive news about the airport more. We've seen very little in the press so far and news about the mini air show is only just trickling out.

(does the airport even have a PR team anymore I wonder?)

Anyway, as things stand it looks like most of the extra movements will be between 13:00 and 15:00 so cameras at the ready and don't forget to share your pictures with us!

So far as I am aware the Eurofighter will be paying a visit along with an RAF VC-10 and numerous other guest aircraft. From what I gather the previously mentioned KLM Boeing 747 will no longer be making an appearance. I'm not aware of any other commercial aircraft taking part in the occasion. I'll be surprised if no airlines take part in the event to make the most of the occasion when the local media are sure to be at the airport. Anybody wishing to visit the terminal, there will be some kind of memorabilia displays in the Food Village on the first floor of the terminal. By all accounts Ken Conliffe (the former owner of the AirSupply shop in Yeadon) will be making an appearance for anybody wishing to purchase one of his new books about the history of LBA.

Have a good day if you're heading to LBA tomorrow.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

I do miss Air Supply. I remember going in there to buy my Timetables that he used to publish!

I'm currently charging camera, camcorder and scanner batteries ready for tomorrow, hope the strong winds forecast don't disrupt any special flights, but just like a few weeks ago they could make for some hair-raising footage!! I'll post when I get back (unless my internet connection is down, which is happening a lot lately) :diablo:

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
