Forgot to post this yesterday night but we had 2 biz jets arrivals into Leeds/Bradford last night. First up was Learjet 45, LX-LAA which arrived at 20:15 with flight No "DUK7AMB" then an hour later at 21:15 Canadair Regional Jet CRJ-200LR, LY-VTA arrived.

Also worth mentioning on here that we have an Eastern Airways arrival into Leeds/Bradford from Avignon late tomorrow night at 23:50 as EZE9684.

Airports live arrivals and departures boards make it look like Jet2 operate New York more often. As I see we have an inbound LS088 due in from Newark at 08:30 tomorrow morning and a LS087 due out to Newark at 11:00.

If only it could go scheduled twice weekly!!! G-LSAN is inbound and currently over Ireland as I write this.

Surely there has to be a market for New York? As a year round thing maybe 2-3 x weekly?
There definitely is a market for it. The problem is getting a carrier to invest in LBA and do it - and realistically it will only be a success if there are interlining opportunities over the pond, enabling onward flights to all over North America. So that really narrows it down to a US carrier - and then it has to be one that is confident in operating from the LBA runway - which narrows it down further. And then you can narrow it down even more, because if that carrier already operates from MAN, then they are not really incentivised to take much of a risk. As ever, the presence of MAN is a persistent blight on the future prospects of LBA in attracting and keeping anything long haul - just as it is at LPL. The short(ish) runway doesn't help, but of course LBA management take the view that extending it cannot be justified because the cost is huge and the likelihood of it making much difference to the situation is low.

Eastern Airways are using Embraer 170, G-CIXV its currently inbound to Leeds runway 32 operating this mornings vary delayed EZE71G/T34701 inbound from Southampton.

Reason for the delay was due to fog at Southampton meaning the first southbound EZE70G/T34700 it was operating had to divert to Bristol before re-positioning back to Southampton as EZE045P.

Understand Boeing 737-377QC, G-CELZ departs Leeds for the final time tomorrow heading to Kemble for scrapping.
I'm sure someone, or maybe various folk, were of the opinion that none of the QC's were going???.....................who knows what might happen!!

Forgot to post this yesterday. But Air Europa Boeing 737-800WL, EC-LTM departed Leeds for Madrid as "AEA271" at lunchtime as it was the end of her 6 month summer lease with Jet2.com

Meanwhile Boeing 737-377QC, G-CELZ departed Leeds for Kemble at 11:20 with flight No "EXS33E" operating her last ever flight on the way to the scrapman

HS-VSK is owned by Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha whom happens to own Premier League Champions Leicester City FC. I have heard talk they are looking at buying Swedish centre back Pontus Jansson, whom is currently on loan to Leeds Utd from Italian club Torino.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
