TUI Netherlands Boeing 737-800, PH-TFB Has just landed Leeds runway 32 inbound from Beirut as TFL7302 operating a Syrian refugee charter flight, He must have done a CAT3 approach as landed on first attempt and we still in LVP's.

Shows it can be done if they want to!

Yes once again a non Uk operator working within Easa regulations can use the Cat 3 Ils with the weather below Cat 1 conditions whilst the Uk registered sister company Tui Uk [ Thomsons ] either cannot or does not want to.

I know you've explained the reasons before, but what a farce. It does Leeds no favours whatsoever.

Also, did anyone catch the pictures on Twitter yesterday from the Easyjet A320 crew that flew into Leeds? It certainly put into prospective how bad the viz was yesterday.

just a thought, if Thomson are basing a Sunwings aircraft with a Canadian reg, would their limits be different to Thomson's G reg?

I do not think Sunwings are Cat 3 so as Thomson do not normally land below Cat 1 limits at Leeds they would be the same. All guess work of course I have no inside information.

No problem ! push a few buttons in the correct sequence and sit and watch the clever machine do it all itself then taxi to the correct gate and park up which is the tricky bit.

RAF C130 Hercules ZH879 callsign "Ascot150" has just done an ILS missed approach and go-around on runway 14, Doing a bit of circuit bashing before making a full stop and landing seen as his night stopping LBA.

Been a disaster for Eastern Airways Saab 2000 operated Leeds/Bradford - Southampton route today. Following on from this morning this afternoons EZE4704/4705 and now the evening EZE4706/4707 rotations have also been cancelled due to the dense fog down in Southampton.

Just now (2.25pm) I swear I saw a Boeing 727 fly over LBA at about FL60. It was heading in a SSE direction. Can anyone in the know verify please ? Ta.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
