Munich??
Have Flybe ever operated to MUC from BHX?

They apparently had the slots (maybe they still do) but obviously nothing ever happened.

The press release states Hamburg will be 4x weekly with 'additional frequency being added for the upcoming winter programme'.

It's currently only bookable up until the end of October so we'll see what the winter will hold.

They may be there to pick up the pieces but let's not forget they are also quick to drop said pieces again themselves (I don't think we need to reiterate the list of dropped flybe routes again). The whole flybe scenario just baffles me as they made a big point of saying they are going to be more conservative at opening new routes but this is, if memory serves me well, about the 3rd new route they have announced since the 'slower new route openings' announcement. Just like when they said they needed to close many bases and routes, but opened many more new bases and routes? I'm not suggesting the routes are not justified but they just seem to dip in and out of plans?

Before anyone thinks that the above is a downer on BHX, it isn't, it's generic to flybe. It's great to see Hamburg continued, and flybes track record of BHX-Germany is much better than some of their other routes so has potential.

That said, I do wonder if Ryanair could be tempted on the route. The fares, brand awareness and 'brashness' of business means they could get plenty o' bums on seats.

I suspect that would be the right decision... both HAM and LUX are now 4 flights PW... I doubt any have the market in the first season to go daily?!

Another new route today with Flybe starting Preveza.

Preveza is their second Greek route with Kefalonia operating on a Saturday.
Are they scheduled flights or charters on behalf of a tour operator?

Apparently there is talk on the dried plum of BA buying Flybe!

If this comes to fruition I would not be surprised see their fleet effectively merged into BA CityFlyer which would be ironic given Flybe bought BA Connect ten years ago. It would also be a real test of BA's commitment to the regions.

I haven't seen anything about this? Do you know where it came from? I have to be honest, I'd love if it was true!

The original discussion was from the BA CityFlyer thread on the forum PPRuNe (known on here as "the dried plum").

Looking back on the discussion now, I think people were just asking "what are the chances of BA buying Flybe if BA expand further into the regions" as a hypothetical question.

However...it will be very interesting to see what happens with BA CityFlyer in the next couple of years because business travel out of LCY is likely to suffer if the UK-Brussels negotiations on Brexit go poorly (from the airline/travel industry point of view).

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
