Looking at the Flybe website and they are now advertising their 'Birmingham Hub' with connections on to the BHX network. They've had the Manchester Hub on there for a while so it's good to see BHX.

Also I'm sure it's nothing but Cologne and Florence are still appearing on the drop down menu but are not bookable, the likes of Oslo, Hamburg, Porto etc are now not listed.

Looking at the Flybe route map and Reykjavik, Cologne, Florence are all still shown as direct routes. It's obviously been updated as Porto, Oslo etc have been removed and Deauville, Bastia and Biarritz have been added. I not convinced they'll return but I wonder if they've left the door open 'just in case'?

Flybe seem to be leaving it rather late to release their winter programme with reports it will be out in the second week of June.

I think we're all interested to see what is planned for BHX. More cuts? New routes? Or just more of the same?

Milan goes up to 3x daily on Mon, Wed and Fri from September

Hanover is still showing as once daily, it would be nice to see a more business friendly double daily return. I'd love to see Hamburg back also but I'm probably dreaming now.

Shouldn't be too much longer before winter is released.

Noticed today that there was a Flybe flight to/from Kefalonia in Greece. Is this being chartered to a tour operator, a funny route for them. I also am assuming they would use the E195 on such a route, its quite a long way for the E175 and a defo no no for turboprop, LOL

It is a charter for Ionian Island Holidays and is every Saturday

New for 2015, Ionian are now flying from Birmingham to Kefalonia Departing from the main terminal

Departing 0955 arriving in Kefalonia 1525

Returning 1625 into Birmingham at 1810

The flight will be operated by Flybe and we commence on the 23rd May 2015.

Amsterdam up to 6x daily.
Dusseldorf up to 5x daily.
Edinburgh up to 8x daily.
Glasgow up to 8x daily.

There are one or two worrying ones, Milan for example is only bookable as once daily during the week and Bordeaux isn't available at all. Apparently this is only a partial release with more to come but we all know what happened last time. We wait with hope

Emirates and Flybe sign codeshare deal

Emirates and Flybe have announced a codeshare agreement.

The deal, which is expected to take effect next month, will see the Gulf airline's EK code added to 25 Flybe routes in the UK.

Subject to regulatory approval, the move will add 13 new destinations, including Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Newquay, to the Emirates network.

All Flybe flights will connect with Emirates' services to Dubai from the latter's Manchester, Glasgow and Birmingham gateways.

Emirates passengers travelling on Flybe will have the same luggage allowance they are entitled to on Emirates and will receive boarding passes on check-in at their first international departure point for connecting international services.

Thierry Antinori, Emirates' executive vice president and CCO, said: "Emirates already offers 16 daily services from the UK to Dubai with another daily service flying from Birmingham from the beginning of August.

"Together with Flybe, we are taking more people to more places and opening up new UK destinations to people around the world."

Flybe CCO Paul Simmons added: "This new codeshare agreement allows us to give our UK customers convenient, seamless access to Dubai and onwards to the rest of the world through our extensive regional route network, direct from their local airport."

Last week, Emirates signed a codeshare agreement with France's national railway company SNCF (see news, June 4).

Looks to be a good move and will hopefully make booking easier. NQY-DXB for example has been bookable for some time on the EK website with connections offered mainly through LGW although BHX and MAN were options.

Haha, yes, not necessarily the fastest way from A to Flybe. Certainly no longer the way from BHX to Waterford, Knock, Toulouse, Porto, Florence, Hamburg, Reykjavik, Cologne, Alicante, Ibiza...

I've not had the pleasure of flying with Flybe yet, in fact the only occasion I have considered them was when travelling to EDI but at the time BMIBaby were considerably cheaper. I quite fancy seeing Berlin at some point in the future so as long as it survives I'll hopefully get chance to check them out :good:
