Yes. And many long haul planes are also going out short of cabin crew - which you may have experienced. I mean it’s all above minimum requirements, but not at the normal level that should be on, so sometimes service isn’t as good as it should be.

The problems are cc are leaving as fast as they are being recruited, and also many are stuck waiting for airside passes still - the pass issuing department at Heathrow is short staffed and overwhelmed atm.

Our flights still went ahead without delay being a 777-300ER going there 777-200ER coming back. I believe our flight originally had been cancelled so we got put onto a new flight which was the one we ended up going on.

When I flew to JFK on BA I had a 777-300ER and flying back a 777-200ER, when my Stepmum flew there with my stepsister they flew there there were due to fly from LGW but that flight got cancelled so they flew from LHR on a 747 and back to LGW on a 777-200ER. My question is what flights did BA operate to New York JFK on the 747 cus had BA not retired it I maybe could have flew on it. I know when we flew to YVR on Air Canada AC used a 787-8 I think we flew on the same aircraft as in reg there and back and sat in the same seats. But BA were using an A380 an Aircraft My Stepmum wanted to fly on maybe it was a 747 or Both. But if I'm right BA used the 747 multiple times into JFK and then 772's the 77W's didn't really fly there but replaced the 744.

So prior to covid JFK was the route that saw most 747s. I would say of the 7/8 flights a day to JFK, probably 4/5 were 747s. The remainder were 777s, usually 200, but occasionally a 300.

Once covid hit in March 2020 the 747s were all quickly grounded and never flew commercially again. The actual announcement to retire the fleet came around June/July 2020. Originally the 747s were slowly being retired but would have remained in service until around 2024/5.

Since the 747s went, JFK was been more or less exclusively 777s with a mixture of 300s and 200s.

So LHR-JFK the first two flights always used to be 747s. Those would be BA117 around 0830 and BA175 around 0945. For the other flights during the day I am not sure if there was a regular pattern of which ones were 747s though.

British Airways yesterday (29DEC22) announced new route launch to Italy, as the oneWorld carrier schedules London Heathrow - Florence route. Inaugural flight is scheduled on 16APR23, with Airbus A320neo operating 1 daily flight.

My College have a trip to Florence wonder if they will fly from LHR as BHX doesn't have service to Florence when I looked only LGW did with Vueling but it left late and Wolverhampton to LGW is probably a pain 4/5 hours

Your colleague could fly to Pisa & catch train to Florence it takes about an hour

BA‘s flights to and from Buenos Aires in W23/4 will operate via Rio de Janeiro. Currently GIG and EZE each have 5 weekly direct flights from LHR, these direct flights will cease when the merged service begins.

G-EUYP Delayed leaving Birmingham after diverting in last night this morning New departure 15:05PM should be working BA flight to Rome at 16:10PM Which I assume will know be delayed if it is delayed anymore do BA have any spare aircraft to cover it. Or would this mean it might have to divert again as it was last night from Milan so LHR had closed

???? - do you mean "now" delayed, not "know" delayed? why does it matter if one BA plane is delayed? Of course BA have plenty of spare aircraft, and it will be back at Heathrow this evening without issue, the BHX diversion was just a one off. And its either 15:05, or 3:05pm, you don't combine these 2 different forms of time together to form 15:05PM! :ROFLMAO:

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
