I have long term contact with someone who has tenuous work links to the airfreight world and is usually accurate but not infallible in passing on little bits of info. He says it was bringing in commercial cargo and not linked to bringing in assets for the future passenger service in anyway.

I would back him over any random post on the wild West world of Facebook where frequently 2+2 = 5

Yes now confirmed it was nothing to do with new pax service just a consignment of cargo

As most of the Cargo traffic moving into BHX appears to be the "cheaper" side of the fashion and accessory business I do not think this will impact the Airport too much. It is not as though we are seeing freighters being loaded with brand new JLR products on a daily basis. Yes, there will be an impact on one certain forwarding Company who have very close ties with JLR but this is part of the rich pattern of life in Logistics.
Personally I am glad to be looking at retiring next year to get out of this game. Will have done 43 years in this industry by the time I retire (and that is long enough). Time to let the youngsters take over!

Yes the majority of BHX cargo is now Temu & Shein so the JLR annoucement will have very little impact on BHX cargo

JLR's job cuts are white collar, not blue. Its unlikely to have any impact on cargo to or from JLR. What it might reduce is the JLR bums on Lufthansa seats.
