Thanks for bringing those over, Ray. Your descriptions are better than anything I could have come up with!

They were taken on my phone so obviously couldn't make JetPhotos/Airliners.net in a million years no matter the amount of editing.

Personally I like the latter two best (showing T2 & the sunset).

Didn't you fly on that quite some time ago Hassaan?

Yes, last May. I also posted some videos of the flights to/from BHX in the video thread.

Thanks for the comments, I was a bit disappointed with the A340 shot as it was using my 300mm and there was a fair amount of heat haze that effected the image. Still nice to see one of these strange things at BHX

Great pictures. Love the A340. In fact it looks better from that view (because it's plain white otherwise).

What a super collection of tails.

Its great to see our Main airlines bringing bigger aircraft to BHX, just a few years ago it would of been very rare to see Lufty or SAS A321s at BHX, it was all 737s.

Those are some great pictures. I'd say BHX is just in a league above Bristol as far as aircraft movements are concerned... however this runway extension should open the airport up to more frequent movements, hopefully.

I agree there, Hassaaan.

To use a football analogy if it's accepted that LHR, LGW, MAN and STN are Premier League, then BHX is Championship along with EDI, LTN and GLA.

BRS is League One with the likes of NCL, LPL, EMA, BFS, ABZ, LBA and LCY.

If you're not into football then this may not mean much to you.

I'd agree with that but I'd probably put LHR in the Champions League :)

The question for the coming years is, can BHX achieve promotion?

I'm not a massive football fan but I think that's pretty much accurate.

Can BHX achieve promotion? Only if the 'club' work at it to strengthen itself.

The 'manager' of BHX FC talks a good game so he possesses that attribute of a football manager. Just needs to be 'over the moon' when a new important service starts or 'sick as a parrot' if an airline pulls out.

Last year he was talking about 18 mppa which would certainly put BHX into the Prem. For this he will need the lads (airlines) to be more assertive and take the game by the scruff of the neck by turning up in greater numbers. I suspect he's quietly confident.

Well at the end of the day the route development team have just got to go out there and do it for the gaffa, he's shown faith in them and now they have to repay him on the pitch (in the office), after all, at the end of the day, once they cross the line it's their responsibility and they have to perform. I think they've done a smashing job so far but at the end of the day it aint over yet, and, at the end of the day, it's going to take one last push to get over the line. At the end of the day it's a game of two 'alves, and at the end of the day nothing is won on paper.

Hi Ray, will it be ok for me to share a couple of those brilliant pics you took last weekend on another webpage that i go on ????

Of course, no problem. If you don't mind adding a link to this forum at the bottom then maybe it'll send a visitor or two over :)

Out of interest would it be Skyscraper City?

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
