You won't see many easyJet diversions from BRS today at BHX. easyJet has so far cancelled 41 out of the 45 departures scheduled from BRS today. Bristol Airport is still closed so presumably the easyJets remain parked at BHX.

I think most of the other airports they would have used were unavailable i:e LGW/MAN/LTN plus any
other southern airports ( MAN did not have any fuel available probably due to new terminal ramp works overnight)

Why would they divert to MAN when BHX is closer to get pax back by coach to BRS ?
BHX and CWL are the usual diversionary airports for BRS, with EXT sometimes being used as well especially by flybmi.

Coach Availability,
Stand Availability,
Handling Availability,
Terminal Capacity - Terminal Duty Manager can reject diverts based on the amount of passengers that are not just going to be processed through arrivals but also due to the fact that these will be then hanging about in the arrivals hall for coaches/taxis etc.
Weather - Pilots may favour MAN over BHX.
Their OPS decisions - that aircraft could go there - later down the line it is cycled into MAN. May as well do it now.

List is endless. It's not just all done on the customer front and what makes logical sense for them - it's all done on the safety point of view.

BRS diversions do end up going to Gatwick quite a lot and CWL has received LGW diversions so i guess it's a case of decisions made by the management at the time.

It's mainly BHX and CWL though. On occasions flights have diverted as far away as MAN, LPL, EMA, STN and LGW. EXT and BOH also feature at times. In 2015, the last year the CAA provided lists of diversions on their stats pages, 79% of the BRS diversions went to either CWL or BHX.

When LGW had the drone problem, flights were diverted all over the place. When there's a major issue, Easyjet spread their diverted flights over a range of airports for the reasons Sherburnflyer92 sets out so clearly

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
