Don't know why that one diverted. Everything else seemed to be landing at BRS last night when I went to bed even though the winds were extremely strong - 70mph nearby at one point in the night.

Last nights AI114 was canx due to a tech aircraft.

It's scheduled to depart at 15:00 today as AI1114.
Good to see that they still operated the flight rather than switching passengers to the next days flight or to other airlines/airports.A good indication of how the route is performing?

How would BHX cope with two A380s?

Wait until one is off loaded and move it?

Do we have any steps?

Bet arrivals will be a bundle of laughs still suppose it's just something that you can't plan for.

I guess it depends on whether Emirates off load them or whether they remain on board hoping to get up to MAN soon.

That would be a hell of a lot of coaches to secure at this time on a Friday night.

The EK19 is a splash and dash, it will head back up to MAN with pax as soon as it can.

Thanks User001, I assumed that this would be the case.

From another forum, it appears that BHX can handle up to 3 A380's, but only one can be moving on the airfield at any one time.

BHX's A380 (EK37) and the diverting MAN A380 (EK19) landed approx 10 minutes apart. However, (according to FR24) the diverting EK19 carried out a hold to north of BHX prior to landing. Was this to allow EK37 to get on stand prior to EK19 landing (with regard to one A380 moving at any one time)?

Regards

Kevin

Took the kids up to the viewing area today and noticed last nights Air India parked on a remote stand. When we got to the building the check in desks were open with a massive queue, it's due to depart at 19:30 as AI1114.

As we walked along the railway path G-ZBAV was boarding with what looked an extremely healthy amount of pax. FR24 tells me that it is now on it's way to Lisbon :)

Following on from last nights diverts, I watched on FR24 EZ2614/EZY614 later depart BHX and hold for some considerable time trying to get into LPL. It eventually went into MAN.

I know we all love to see diverts into BHX, but on the part of the passengers and the airline wouldn't a diversion to MAN in the first place have been a better option?
I also wonder about the LPL aircraft that diverted to NCL. If those pax then had to make a road trip, I imagine that's quite a journey. Again the nearest open airport was MAN.

I'd imagine though especially if it was late at night that MAN may well have been full.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
