ATC have said midday at the earliest for runway reopening.

Just seen on another forum that as of 10:05 all National Express bus services in the West Midlands have been suspended.
An absolute nightmare if you work at the the airport,or having to work at all today.
A number of incidents and accidents have resulted in road and motorway lane closures across the region.
The city centre is reported as being at a standstill in places.
Think it best to stay at home today!!!

It looks like Birmingham has got what was originally forecast for Greater Manchester as we had an amber alert up until yesterday afternoon with 4 to 8 inches of snow expected.

Turkish went to MAN.

It's going to be close as to whether EK39 and QR33 get in, both are due around 12:20.

A recent BHX Twitter update.

to be honest, I don't know how MAN has taken 13 diversions today when it's normally 4 or 5, with one of them to be a heavy! Especially with all the work going on restricting apron space.

ATC saying it would be midday minimum before BHX opens but looks optimistic to say the least.

It's still coming down here although it has eased slightly.

The only Euro flights now en route are a Ryanair from Madrid and a Mistral Air from Budapest.

A6-EUY is due in 44 minutes.

Well, as we thought, we’re having an extended stay in Toulouse.
We had the option of a refund, a rebook, or trying to get on another flight to the UK. But then we’d have the issue of getting back to Birmingham, so we are coming home tomorrow instead, and have checked into a rather splendid hotel. Whether travel insurance will cover it, who knows, but what the hell!

Can't believe our luck arrived back from Bridgetown on G-TUIC about 4am yesterday and we were in the car at car park 5 in less than 30 minutes including luggage really feel for people being diverted on today's flight would be a real downer as you have still got to drive home, just hope everyone gets home safe.

The forecast looks terrible - just hope the Met Office gets it wrong!

EK39 is heading to MAN, most likely QR33 too.

FR2082 got as far as the south coast and is now holding over the Channel.

The Mistral Air from Budapest is over Amsterdam looking as if it is heading north.

That's pretty much it until Air India later, nothing else even risked departing.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
