Some of these could be due to the Bank Holiday. Others possibly related to the French ATC strikes (when are the French ATC not on strike?). Huge protests currently in progress in France.

What I usually do is I assess which flights are cancelled.
Then obviously I post them on the forum so people like Urself can understand it more .For example tomorrow I will be posting tomorrow cancellations

It`s not just BHX as MAN has some today as well and there does seem to be a pattern of France ,Belfast and a couple of Spain and were nearly all later afternoon evening so most may well be to do with the protests in France for Mayday

Some spectacular weather avoidance at BHX early afternoon, with several storms tracking through. The best of which was RYR665 to Dublin. EI-IGY B38M. It departed off 33 but almost immediately turned left, headed across the south of the city centre, before turning south east, passing near Coventry and Nuneaton, before swinging north east towards the west of Nottingham. It then finally turned west for it's route to DUB.

Sounding like a war front here in Worcestershire. Constant rumbles as the showers approach. Lightning detectors going bonkers and the radar suggests trouble a coming! Here is a thought, Prince Harry has returned home to his bolt hole in the States and his wife is angry about something or other, any idea what?

I think Prince Harry's wife spends half her life angry with someone!.
Less said about that subject the better!.

TUI from Espargos running a massive 15 hours late! It was three hours late departing outbound yesterday so I’m guessing the crew went out of hours. Out of all the TUI flights this one always seems to suffer huge delays - and not just from BHX. Is there a particular reason? It was a similar story last year and would really put me off booking it.

You likely answered your own question - crew hours.

Even without any delays, Cape Verde from the UK is incredibly close to the maximum amount of hours a crew can do when operating there and back in one go.

Airlines could night stop crews to reduce the chance of crews going out of hours, but this obviously has additional cost, especially when the service is only twice a week. Not many airlines will want to put 6 crew members up in a hotel for 4 nights if they don't have to.

The regular flight routing from BHX to Cape Verde goes through French Airspace, which is being frequently affected by ATC strikes in recent months.

its interesting when you review the performance of TOM704 BHX-SID last summer and this summer so far:-

the average departure delay is 2 hours 6 minutes (taken from FR24), so what is causing it? ATC/Slot restrictions? or could it be the handling at BHX, does swissport not have enough staff to load a 787 on a Saturday afternoon? - Obviously any delays, eat into the crewing hours, hence the issues with the inbound TOM705 Sunday morning.

Had a Loganair ATR divert in from Isle Of Man was due to Manchester. Also there was or still is a serious Medical Emergency onboard a Jet2 Passengers were disembarked but an Ambulance and a Fire Engine on scene. Started just before EK landed at 19:38PM Kev Airport Action noticed something amiss with the 737 then saw the Ambulance out of respect he didn't film much

I can't find anything on FR24's arrivals page for MAN, showing any diverted flights. Do you have a registration, flight number or time? That would make it much easier to search FR24.

It was just an FR24 error not a diversion! It was in fact the scheduled BHX flight, LM673 ATR72 G-LMTD, for some reason FR24 was still showing it as the morning IOM-MAN flight number LM694

never trust FR24 100%, currently they are not always showing the correct TUI flight departures/arrivals times, as they haven't updated the TUI timetable yet!

No, I've learned my lesson! I note that FR24 often shows 2 departure or arrival times for the same flight. Aer Lingus BHD flights often show this, possibly as they are loaded as both Aer Lingus and Aer Lingus Regional.

Fell Victim myself After telling Kev Loganair don't Track properly on FR24 due to outdated technology

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
