The Blue Islands ATR 42 was certainly not due to a missed approach. It spent the best part of an hour and a half giving it's passengers a tour of the West Midlands, Warwickshire and Worcestershire.
so impressed with the 2 flight crew on the Blue Islands AT72, never gave up, had enough fuel, and it eventually paid off, and was the first aircraft to land after the storm.
not certain if some of the holding/diverted aircraft could have landed any earlier, I thought the 33 end cleared quicker after the storm, but they were a bit restricted with the EI ATR, TUI 738 & EW A223 all blocking the 15 end, waiting to dept.
EK38 finally departed, 00:42 Monday morning
