The Blue Islands ATR 42 was certainly not due to a missed approach. It spent the best part of an hour and a half giving it's passengers a tour of the West Midlands, Warwickshire and Worcestershire.

so impressed with the 2 flight crew on the Blue Islands AT72, never gave up, had enough fuel, and it eventually paid off, and was the first aircraft to land after the storm.

not certain if some of the holding/diverted aircraft could have landed any earlier, I thought the 33 end cleared quicker after the storm, but they were a bit restricted with the EI ATR, TUI 738 & EW A223 all blocking the 15 end, waiting to dept.

EK38 finally departed, 00:42 Monday morning (y)

Emirates departing at 00.43am on Monday. You gotta laugh.
Why? The weather is totally outside the control of Emirates. The crew made their best effort to get into BHX by holding as long as they could, before having to divert. Credit to the airline and handling agents (many of whom have probably had to work late), in getting the aircraft turned around and returned to DXB. Emirates will be re-booking any passengers who have missed their connection at DXB.

As I'm sure you are aware, those weather conditions can hide a whole host of horrors, including windshear, micro-bursts, icing and hail.. The METAR was indicating 'thunderstorm activity' and the one thing you never want to do is fly into cumulonimbus clouds (that's asking for serious trouble).. As for departures, far better to fly towards the clear whether, than head into it.

The BA E190 was diversion from Florence as it apparently missed the night curfew at LCY and last nights diverted A400 night stopped.

TUI have a A332 operating again today BY7194 to Lanzarote, and the Getjet 37H is still operating today doing Mahon.

Well the thunder is back and so is the rain.

Jet2 to Antalya made a sharp right turn heading over Birmingham up to Sheffield with another right turn it's now approaching the Lincolnshire cosat.

Air France on approach but Lufthansa holding over Northamptonshire.

Lufthansa now making it's way here along with DHL 763 G-DHLJ, CVG-EMA, now on approach.

We have so far avoided the rain here in Castle Bromwich. The storm seems to have headed towards the Black Country. Plenty of storms still popping up all over the country at the moment.

EasyJet flight to Belfast has yet again been cancelled tonight and it’s starting to annoy me as I fly with them on the 24/6/2023 at 1.40pm
Ian what are the chances this flight will be scheduled to operate. As you know literally everything

How on Earth, do you expect Ian to know 11 days in advance whether a flight will operate or not? Even easyjet wont know that.
If you've been following the news, or taken the time to search the internet, you'll be aware that due to weather, easyjet cancelled around 100 flights from LGW over the last couple of days.. This has resulted in aircraft and crews being in the wrong locations, with the knock on effect of cancellations to other services until the airline gets back on schedule. Barring any further major disruption to schedules, I'd be very surprised if your flight gets cancelled.

Listen Kev.I know you dislike and disagree with me.I want you to know that I hate being questioned or disrespected.I’m specifically asking because I’m flying to Belfast for Graveyard Sunday and the mother spent £150 flight for two for the flight there and back.I’m there for at least 3 days.I would appreciate if we show the same respect as each other

How are you being disrespected? He is correct though…

I don’t expect Our Ian to literally know everything. All I want to know from him is that which flights are cancelled with EasyJet in the coming weeks and days.

In terms of being disrespected I mean by people snapping at me
But you go Ian knows literally everything… and now you go you don’t expect it? Just have some patience when you ask questions like that as it’s too early to be known yet…

Although I don't want to speak on his behalf I'm sure that Kevin meant no disrespect. The issue with written word over being spoken to directly is that it is very easy to misunderstand the context, I'm sure that we have all been guilty of it at some point.

With regards to your flight I doubt that anyone will be able to predict if it will be canx or not. If it was a planned cancellation then you would likely have heard something by now, if it's canx due to unforeseen circumstances (such as the storms we have seen recently) then I'm afraid that you won't know until it happens.

I'm not sure if you are aware or not but if you want to ask a particular member a specific question then there is a private chat function located at the top of the page. I've always maintained that anyone is free to message me if they need to, just as long as it's clean 😁

As Mods we try very hard to keep this forum friendly, we have disagreements from time to time but we do not make it personal. This forum is not heavily moderated and our relaxed approach aims to allow a little thread drift, or a couple of gags here and there, it makes this the great place that it is and we intend to keep it that way.

Lets now draw a line under this and move on, after all we have some glorious weather to enjoy :) ☀️

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
