The winds have been pretty bad today but from what I can make out we have only seen two diverts away. I've only kept half an eye on it though so there may be more?

Flybe ATR from Isle of Man and a Flybe E175 from Lyon, both went to EMA.

FR24 shows the 175 returned to BHX just over an hour after it landed at EMA.

This evening the Helvetic F100 from Zurich and SAS CRJ900 from Copenhagen have diverted to MAN and EMA respectively.

Not a great situation in Pakistan.

All Pakistani airports have been closed since Tuesday night as employees of the national flag carrier protested the deaths of two colleagues killed while demonstrating against plans to privatise the airline.

All of Pakistan International Airline’s foreign and domestic flights were suspended, and employees held strikes at airports in major cities across the country.

“Everything is shut now and flight operations have come to a complete halt,” PIA spokesperson Danial Gilani told media personnel on Thursday. “The carrier could lose around $4 million in revenue per day,” he added.

He said that all 38 planes of the airline had been grounded for the first time in Pakistan’s history. PIA’s last flight was Pk-722 which arrived from New York last night and landed at Lahore.

EXS051B

EXS051B (G-LSAN) aborted landing repeatedly from Birmingham Airport, originated from LBA.

Aircraft may have taken a very strange flight path, circling over the North Sea, and then flying straight down to Birmingham.

UPDATE: It is now flying back up to Leeds.

Seems to be doing circuit training.

FR24 is showing that EK40 has been delayed until a 20:00 departure. I can't see anything on the airport website but if correct, we have 2x Emirates 77W's in at the moment.

Had a tech issue which was resolved but crew then went out of hours.

G-TUIC has just arrived from Helsinki.

I assume it's to operate the delayed Montego Bay which is now scheduled for a 20:00 departure.

LGW was closed for a while today due to a fuel spillage and we've had 3 diverts from LGW so far:

EI-FHJ Norwegian 738 from Copenhagen, UR-PSJ Ukraine 738 from Kiev, and LN-LNA Norwegian 788 from Los Angeles. One other Norwegian flight went to Stansted.

I was surprised how many planes diverted into LHR given how congested it is already. Emirates, Icelandair, Pegasus and Vueling all diverted there, while BA aircraft went to Bournemouth and Easyjet went to LTN and STN.

Sorry for the typo

EI-FHJ has now departed to LGW, and the 787 should depart in the next hour because the LGW departure board says it is expected to depart back to LAX at 17:42.

Nice to see two Norwegian 787's in today. It's a shame one was a divert and the other in for maintenance but nice nevertheless

Vueling A320 EC-MFM flying BCN-MAN is diverting into BHX after circling MAN several times. It will arrive directly ahead of EC-MER which is operating the BHX flight.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
