Confirmation from the start of season Winter 2018 ACL report:

Stavanger increases from 2 to 3 per week.

Norwegian put a 737MAX on the DY4480 this morning LN-BKB.

Also they are ditching all TATL from Edinburgh from S19. Time to give Manchester a go?

Yes they have ended TATL from Edinburgh. I'd be surprised if they started from Manchester as there is a lot of competition there.

I'm sure I've said this before however I was dread to see Norwegian start transatlantic services from Manchester. Virgin and Thomas Cook already cover a good area and don't, at least at present, need a competitor - especially a predatory one.

Selfishly speaking, my family needs a MAN-LAX year round service. Happy to use TCX in the summer, but in the winter it's via LHR or DUB (not risking a snowbound US airport) and that takes effort to go through all the fare options! Train to LHR and Air NZ this time - great offer but would prefer waltzing up to MAN and not worrying about any connections.

I understand where you're coming from, but I also have my doubts about Norwegian's financial situation - nothing definite, just the gut.

You get VS from next summer, but still seasonal for now. As for winter, outside of rail to LHR, you are still making a connection there or DUB. Obviously train to LHR and then non-stop to LAX might be the best, but if your doing a flight connection in the winter ATL is probably a better , if slightly out of the way, spot than either LHR or DUB. Winters are surprisingly similar to both LHR and DUB, they have bags of spare runways space, and US airlines generally do a better job of winter storm recovery than BA has. I totally agree avoiding the North East and Chicago is a smart move.

Winter 2019 update - New Bergen route twice per week Mon & Fri, Stavanger however reduces from three to two per week.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
