Had a look at this the other day it seems that one of the YYC flights start at YVR rather than YYC and stops at YYC on the way. So YVR has 3 eastbound with a stop at YYC on one. There are still only 2 westbound to both YVR and YYC. YYZ seems to be 5 per week but on all flights the season seems to be a little later and doesn't ramp up until near the peak

Yes.

All YVR and YYC uses A330.

Still seems to be a lot of A310 flights on the Toronto despite several news articles stating 'More A330 on MAN-YYZ'.

Cheers User.

If AC launch YYZ-MAN as mainline Transat might decide that they are not in direct competition there and simply stick to the A310.

Not according to GDS:

Sun
TS254 YVR 1600 MAN 0900+1
TS255 MAN 1040+1 YVR 1210+1

Tue
TS346 YVR 1630 MAN 0930+1
TS347 MAN 1100+1 YVR 1230+1

Thu
TS284 YVR 1720 MAN 1020+1
TS285 MAN 1200+1 YVR 1330+1

Calgary now removed from GDS looking at it. Flights show either via YYZ or YVR as connections......

edited post as it now looks like we are actually in a much worse situation than origianally thought.

When first looking, Calgary was still showing, however, all reservations are now closed and website now only offering connections via YVR or YYZ.

This is quite bad, down 1 weekly flight and down to 2 destinations in Canada. I don't think the Canada market has looked that bleak for a long time!

Not great, is it a surprise YYC is struggling, or does it reflect a restructure by Transat?

Perhaps YYZ is due for a capacity increase (e.g. 310 to 330)?

Hmm... YYC was pretty valuable. There's now two routes for AC to mull over. We can only hope they show some committment and launch YVR.

Air Transat have increased Toronto from 1 to 2 weekly this winter. Flights on Tue/Fri. May still be a low frequency but still a 100% increase.

Hi User, are they also intending to use the A330 on this route over the winter?

Never mind - good to see the Canadian market is showing signs of growth (particularly in the winter).

This is great news and reduces the colossal disparity between summer and winter in the Canada market.

2nd winter flight 'only' operates to December. But still better than last year.

In others news, we are now in the 'summer season' in Air Transat's eyes so are receiving our first Toronto A330 tomorrow!

Only 4 x weekly in the summer? Is that what we were expecting, plus 2 x weekly Vancouver?
Didn't it used to be 6 x weekly with the 2 Calgary/Vancouver flights so that there were 2 flights one day?
Perhaps that was before Rouge appeared on the scene.

I think summer sees 4x weekly YYZ (2x A310 and 2x A330) and 3x YVR weekly. Air Canada Rouge is 5x weekly 763?

2x weekly A310 October-December isn't bad -its still increase. personally Imwould like to see 1xA310 jan-Mar and 17th summer schedule begin in April.

It seems the article is full of inaccuracies then.

YYZ is 5 weekly in summer
YVR is 2 weekly with a 3rd weekly peak summer.

YYZ is now 2 weekly all winter and has been since the article was published.

So actually Air Transat is 8x weekly in peak summer? What days are the operations?

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
