Sadly delayed quite a bit. The plane was just over an hour late arriving in to BHD from BHX. Still not left BHD yet. We were supposed to depart LBA at 1845, but I guess it will be after 2000 at the earliest now.

Not the best of starts. It's only just landed at 1935 hrs. Always a risk though when they still don't have a full fleet so no spare aircraft if anything goes wrong. Hopefully that will soon improve.

Well I’ve managed to get myself into the Aer Lingus lounge here in T2….so no rush KARFA

Flybe cant afford to subsidise to this extent, they dont have the resources. Im hoping the fact LHR wasnt canned before now is because forward bookings are better or a code share with BA or Star Alliance is imminent. Stress on the word imminent.

Agree with all that, but makes me wonder if LBA have offered Flybe any kind of insentitves too?
Eg, Free landing /ATC fees or some form of subsidy for them to operate the LBA-LHR route for so long until it starts to break profit..

Id like to think so but freebies on those items arent going to even scratch the surface.

Well it hasn't stopped the so well known Conservative mayor up in Teesside funding his Airport routes with subsidies paid to Loganair & Ryanair to fly it's aircraft around half empty. Has it?

Deep pockets come to mind!

But to what extent are MME subsidising?- thats the question. If I were managing an airline and an airport made a case to me for flying a route I would ask them to put their money where their mouth was and chip in at least until they were proved right and the route was viable.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
