a measly 2 daily to AMS currently, priced extortionately high, not good at all for P2P. EZY 28 weekly from MAN, KLM however many from MAN, pushing passengers over the hill to go to Amsterdam for the weekend. massive market and one I think BE could do really well on. :)

LS managed it very well. no reason why another operator job on the route and fill the gap in the market.

I think they should also be jumping all over JER, NQY and SOU from LBA. The latter 2 of course unserved and the former I think is becoming less important to Jet2 as I think we have lost the Saturday rotation this summer and it’s gone to Sunday’s hasnt it? Big mistake in my eyes

Competition on point to point will bring fares down.

Yes, but why should that be an objective for EasyJet or even FlyBe?

If I were FlyBe I would be staying clear of routes where there is significant competition as it will only mean I struggle to sell seats, and what I do sell has to be cheap and at low margin to win passengers over. This is precisely why I thin them doing routes such as LHR-AMS is particularly stupid.

They appear intent in going head to head with established carriers on many routes! NCL- LHR is another example. Yet they ignore routes from LBA that are completely unserved..

This venture was always going to end in tears! Lots of discussion previously on the poor decisions made. Maybe an opportunity for somebody completely new to have a go, surely there must be some potential from LBA.

That wet least last year would have hurt them. Alongside the fact they tried to gain access to LHR without any codeshares. Is it any wonder this ended in tears? If we go back in time the government should of bailed out Flybe as they offered vital regional connectivity. Sadly they didn't and what happened is other regional carriers coupled with the likes of easyJet and BA stepped in.

Oh and they started in 2021 in the midst of media propaganda to not end lockdown and the travel debacle still ongoing .... I don't think domestic aviation has fully recovered from Covid just yet.

Sad, but not unexpected. Too many bad route decisions, especially launching routes that were already served but with insufficient aircraft to fly them. A lesson in how to alienate your customers from the start. And of course, they ignored unserved route opportunities, particularly here at LBA.

Management tried to go back to where they had been before, thinking passengers would flock back. They didn't. And they went for the Dash 8 Q400 again, even though they were going to be tricky to source.

So many mistakes. Very sad for the staff, yet again.

A Flybe 3 would be a big mistake. If any new regional carrier is launched, it most definitely shouldn't be called Flybe! It's an airline that's lost all credibility .

This is again very sad for all concerned, but has been said, absolutely no surprise. Think the writing may have been on the wall for a while. LBA now has little chance of domestic services coming back with both LM and T3 seemingly avoiding LBA at all costs. Thank goodness for KLM, Wizz, Aer Lingus, Jet2 and Ryanair along with the other bits and pieces we do have. And totally agree that Flybe3, if that were to ever happen, would be an even bigger mistake. The very best of luck to all staff involved in finding new jobs

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
