Some encouraging news at long last regarding the Humber Bridge tolls. Hopefully they will just reduce them to £1 and have done with it, but the fact that they mention £2 suggests otherwise.
Hopefully with a reduction the North and South sides of the Humber can be drawn closer together, and people on the North Bank realise how close HUY really is!

That is really good news. How much does it cost at present to cross the bridge? Is it really so much it deters people from using Humberside airport? Either way it's been a long time in coming and it can only help to improve economic links between the North and South of the Humber.

It is 3 quid each way at present, went up from 2.70 in october. I wouldn't say it deters people from using the airport, but it contributes to the barrier between north and south of the river, and I dont believe people on the north bank feel.any kind of 'ownership' due to tge airport being on the south bank. Not to mention petty parochial views on Humberside..

Any one know or have a good reason as to why Jet2's Boeing 737-300, G-CELF has just positioned in to Humberside form Leeds this evening as LS041A?
I only ask as I don't think there is any charter flights planned to operate out from Humberside tomorrow. Also G-CELF is not a Quick Change aircraft so it can't be cargo related.

It would be good to see a few more Jet2 aircraft in an out of HUY, wouldn't hurt for them to operate a few popular destinations, IE Palma, Barcelona.

That will be good news if the airport can pull that off and hold on to the Ryanair Alicante.

Ryanair is a definate according to HAT and the FR timetables.. So a small gain if VE come back. HAT also say on their facebook page that Olympic are keen to reinstate the LCA flights for the full season, but that aircraft availability since ECA were dissolved has been a problem. Olympic are said to be reviewing the situation and hope to reinstate the full summer program in the next few weeks.

DfT forecast for UK airport passenger numbers in 2020 and 2050
I'm a bit surprised that no-one has picked up on the post I did recently in the Aviation Industry forum regarding the DfT's forecast for UK airport passenger figures for the years 2020, 2030, 2040 and 2050.
I reproduced the figures for 2020 and 2050 for the current top 20 airports.
Perhaps the Aviation Industry forum is not well visited so I thought I'd mention the individual airport figures in the forums of the more popular airports on forums4airports.
The Dft is forecasting sparse growth until 2020 at many regional airports.
Humberside Airport is forecast to be handling less than 1 mppa in 2020 and between 2 and 12 mppa in 2050.

I think 12 million by 2050 is a bit on the optimistic side 😉
I'm not sure what the DfT build their forecasts on, but I hope they dont get taken too seriously. Unfortunately decisions have been made in the past, when we have been in recession and so forecasts are drastically altered. Ever wondered why we were lumbered with a Heathrow that reached capacity much earlier than anticipated with little growth prospects? Just look back to the 1970's and the Cabinet Papers released during the Callaghan years...

The flights were on the timetables on the FR website, set to operate on the same days and times as they did this year. However this has now been removed from the timetables despite HUY-ALC still being a choice in the drop-down menu and on the timetable.. I checked EMA and ALC is yet to be loaded into the timetables from there too.
Either these flights are to be a victim of the ongoing dispute between FR and ALC, or they are changing the days/times/frequency of these flights. I am led to believe that there are currently no ALC flights yet on sale with FR so I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens.
Hope to hear of HUY successfully attracting BE back on their popular AGP flights, supposidly management have been in discussions and they are awaiting a decision from BE in the next few weeks.
