New route. PMI with Jetgo holidays operated by Albastar starts 19th July 2020 for 10 weeks. 1 weekly on Sundays.

This news together with the BH flights started this year is good news for Teesside. It is a start which obviously will need to be added to if their projected 1 million passenger projection is to be met. After years of going downhill with Peel at the helm any growth in activity and passengers is good news for the airport and the local economy. The Locals commenting in the Gazette don't universally welcome this as they seem to have lost faith in the place which, under Peel, isn't surprising. But I wish them luck after a rotten period of decline. My view is that a lo-co airline is what they also need.

I hope that the Jetgo and BH operations work well and continue which will encourage others to give them a go too.

I've read elsewhere Eastern are about to launch some links from MME, how much is true or speculation ...not sure.

When i worked in the travel industry many years ago, I would go.on relief to our implant offices in ICI Witon and Billingham.

We sent a lot of passengers out of MME , using BMA to LHR , KLM and I think Dan Air to Amsterdam.

I might add the company I worked for also operated a shuttle for ICI employees from MME to MAN. It wa operated by Air Kilroe with a Jetstream 31. Went on it a few and recall a rather ' interesting ' landing in bad weather in MAN.
It operated Mon to Fri I think about four times a day and was popular.
A number of us who worked in the office booking these flights felt the route should be MME to LPL being closer for ICI Runcorn. However all a long time ago.

Those were the days eh Carl. ICI Wilton and Billingham plus the steel works in the area were the driving force for the Teesside economy. MME was a small but very busy little airport then but it has been downhill all the way for ICI and steel since then with the subsequent economic woes for all. It is good to see that someone is attempting to do something about this although I doubt we will see the same levels of economic activity without very large amounts of public money being pumped into the area. Only then will we see a proper MME revival.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
