i wonder if teeside could be one of the bases, the mayor seems to support the airport 100%.
Good suggestion SNOWMAN as its been hinted a new airline could be coming to Teeside next year so could that be Sun Express?…

I think it is quite good. I made the mistake of spelling Teesside wrong the first time I went there and was corrected - I won't make the same mistake again now :)

Could the new airline for Summer 2022 be easyJet Europe? The airlines call-sign is “Alpine”.

With bases all around Europe - this might be a good contender?!
A good guess as it could be Easyjet Europe but I’m unsure at the moment as to which airline it could be. Time will tell.

They did close their NCL base not too long ago, although they still serve there with aircraft from elsewhere. I can't really recall if there was a LoCo based at MME....maybe BMIbaby ?

Congratulations to Teesside on being the one of only 3 airports to have exceeded 2019 figures in April.

A comparison of passenger numbers for all UK & Northern Ireland airports can be found here:

Airport News - General airport statistics and CAA data release dates

This thread is to give an update on the status of the monthly data released by the CAA. "We update the published tables every fortnight to include airport submissions that have been accepted most recently. Therefore, airport data can potentially be published within a 14 days from the end of a...

A more detailed analysis of your local airport will be produced when I have the time to compile the data.

@Scottie Dog - It isn't really congratulations though is it? Teesside was dying a death under Peel for a fair number of years until they (Peel) eventually threw in the towel and the Mayor came along and did a rescue act. It cost, and is still costing a small fortune if rumour is to be believed, to attract operators to a what was a nearly dead airport. In the circumstances increasing passengers from virtually nothing to a bit more than nothing is commendable but at what price and how long will it last I ask? Passengers up to c14,000 from c13,000 is for sure an improvement but it isn't (except on the face of it) anything to shout about. Biggin Hill was up by over 30% compared with Teesside (up by c9% if you look at it purely from a statistical point of view and neither airport handles what I would call a representative number of passengers per annum in comparison with more well used and recognised airports.

I'm not, by the way, questioning the value of the sterling work you do compiling these figures for us every month. I wouldn't have the patience. I'm also not knocking Teesside as in the past I used it a lot in the days when it was a better more functional airport albeit small.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
