CAA Stats February 2020

Published yesterday - academic to an extent at the moment but copied here for record purposes.

42,354 passengers were handled in the month, up 23.6% on February 2019. Atms were up 14.7%. Rolling 12-month total was 818,920, up 20.1% on a year ago.

BOH was one of the few airports to see passenger growth in February 2020, despite it being a leap year with an extra day over February 2019. It seems to be on a roll at the wrong time.

On the LBA thread there is a post there that says Ryanair are pulling out of BOH. I don't know how true this info is.Perhaps we can find a answer some where. Lets hope its not true info.

I've just posted the below response (in italics below) to a similar query in the EXT thread. I checked EXT's future booking engine pattern as well as CWL's, NQY's and BRS's, but have not checked BOH's.

A poster said that 'the only places not put on sale appear to be LBA, PIK, EXT and BOH - maybe all gone?'

I wasn't sure what he meant. EXT's ALC and AGP are on sale from July and through the coming winter - their MLA is no longer on sale for this summer or the coming winter, and NAP never was for this summer. There is nothing on sale at EXT for summer 2021 which is perhaps what the poster meant.

If so, there is nothing on sale for NQY or CWL in summer 2021 and many of BRS's usual routes are not on sale for summer 2021 either.

This is all according to the Ryanair booking engine on my desk top computer.

I guess we will have to play the waiting game as to what routes will operate from all airports in yhe UK. No one knows as it all hinges on when or if they can get this coronavirus sorted out or not.

I wonder if it means a second based aircraft rather than sharing one.

Getting extra air craft based would mean adding more routes,or doing a w pattern from another airport would be the way to go. 2022 is a long way off yet and dare i say it will the covid 19 be finished with us by then.

Well they have been sharing one with Exeter. I guess we'll find out eventually.

Surprised that they've gone for Bournemouth. Would've thought they'd gone for Southampton.

Runway not always in limits for the airbus, and no problem at BOH. Be different i would think if SOU get the runway extension.

49 trips undertaken last year. First done this year which was to North Wales where surprisingly the only slippery surfaces were in Conwy with the castle and it's walls closed due to the ice.

Well over 4 million steps taken this year already. And about 12,500 photos.
The joys of travel. Train from Edinburgh to Leeds is cancelled so having another night in Edinburgh and heading back in the morning!
Tbf Edinburgh isn't a bad city to be stuck in.
A week off work done which resulted in 6 day trips , 50 miles walked and only 2500 photos, Going to work is more of a holiday as I tended to be out of my flat an hour earlies in my week off and back for after 8pm
