A nice set of routes you have written. When thinking routes the mind wanders and it thinks that any route would work.

AMS, CDG, BER and MXP are the main ones and have had recent interest shown in them by easyjet so fingers crossed.

The others are more of my wish list based on easyjet bases throughout Europe and may only be viable being combined with a BHX base, if that ever happens.

Naples always seemed an odd route though to who knows.

Best wishes and Happy New Year to you Steve.

Timings are decent enough considering it's not BHX based. Really hope Paris, Berlin and Milan are on the way.

Looking at a random week in September we see 69 weekly flights, assuming travel is happening by then.

Belfast at 22x weekly. Mon x4, Tue x3, Wed x3, Thur x3, Fri x4, Sat x2, Sun x3
Glasgow at 17x weekly. Mon x3, Tue x3, Wed x2, Thur x3, Fri x3, Sat x1, Sun x2.
Amsterdam at 14x weekly. Double daily.
Edinburgh at 13x weekly. Sun - Fri x2, Sat x 1.
Geneva at 3x weekly. Mon, Wed and Fri.

Naples is still listed in the app but nothing bookable. Hopefully a sign that it's postponed rather than dropped, I guess we'll see when S22 is released.

Interesting to read elsewhere that EasyJet have announced Manchester and Glasgow to Newquay, citing 'staycation' demand expected to be high. Load factors have been historically high, 80% plus apparently. Loganair were to operate Glasgow and immediately dropped it when EJ announced. Obviously dont fancy the scrap !!
Maybe EJ might see the opening at BHX and want to exploit that too ? Would have been an ideal short sector hop for a based aircraft, pity :(

Bristol Airport have done a lovely short video advertising their two new easyjet routes and even the briefest of searches shows several reposts and local media outlet articles who have picked up on it.

Anyone following Birmingham Airport social media would have no idea that a new route had been released (I can't exactly call it 'announced').

Birmingham Live have picked up on it but it's just the generic easyjet release.

I completely agree with your sentiments Ray, a simple tweet costs nothing but yet again no mention by Birmingham Airport. The twitter page is ideal for them to showcase which destinations and with which operators are available and build up demand by pax. Personally I think BHX give more publicity of Jet2 than any other carrier which yes Jet2 are a key customer but so are these other airlines. Monarch was a big customer but where are they now. Also still no mention regarding the Wizz routes to Riga or Vilnius by the airport aswell.

A re-tweet takes seconds but still gets the message out there and I think most of us on here could whip up a press release in no time at all, it only needs to be something basic.

Assuming that BHX want more from easyjet (and Wizz) in the future one would think they'd do everything they could to promote what is already available.

again.... why do you think i started my own twitter account to promote the airport and its new routes!

please share ;o)

Hopefully as many people as possible will share, retweet and whatever else is possible to spread the news (y)

Flights are now bookable up to spring, this is from a random week in May 2022 so plenty of time for changes.

Belfast - 22x weekly.
Glasgow- 17x weekly.
Amsterdam - 14x weekly.
Edinburgh - 13x weekly.
Geneva - 3x weekly.

Amsterdam is not bookable from Oct 31st until March 27th.

odd that AMS isnt bookable in winter (yet at least) and can only hope this is limitations which the routes sets up and the airlines gets back into full operation. hopefully this will be corrected in the interim at at least by W22

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
