Allowing for take off weight restrictions etc, just how far could a Max go from LBA?

They have bigger, more powerful engines and a bigger wing, so shouldn't have any problem using LBAs runway for any routes within Europe or to North Africa. They should out-perform the 800s. How far they can go beyond that I wouldn't know. Someone will though!

If an 800 can make it comfortably into Sharm and Hurghada from LBA I suggest the same can be said for the Max and be even more comfortable. Cape Verde maybe?

Agree. There is real open market for Ryanair to keep pushing the aircraft numbers in to 4/5 eventually out of LBA. The un tapped markets of Eastern Europe, Germany, Scandinavia as well as Spain and Italy will serve the airline and airport well. Thinking the likes of Madrid, Lisbon as obvious ones from LBA but Seville Valencia in Spain as others. Add to that if Ryanair wanted to go strong into Turkey I'm sure they are aware of the size of the market from LBA to Turkey which would serve them well also.

Love ryanair to fly to valencia, been to valencia twice now, its an amazing city. Love to fly from LBA to VLC, spend a few days in valencia then train down to the property near alicante.

Oceanographic was my favourite, could spend a whole day in just that part of it! I believe it is the largest of its kind in europe. In fact you have set me off now im in the mood to go back there haha but yes a twice weekly FR to VLC would be great, aslo from towns such as cullera and denia to the north of the costa blanca its not much further to VLC than ALC so they would still pick up holiday home traffic. Sadly i had to use the MAN service.

Some won't mind the distance at all. Those for example who think that MAN is suitable to serve the Leeds and West/North Yorkshire area. Similar distance.

As far as I can tell the range of a Max-8 200 as flown by Ryanair at maximum take off weight (MTOW) is 3106 miles, that of a 737-800 is 2295 miles at MTOW. How that translates to range from LBA is debatable but given that the distance from LBA to Larnaca is 2149 miles, right at the edge of the 800’s range at full load it seems that 737’s can take off from LBA at MTOW. In effect then a Max could fly a further 811 miles that would bring it within range of the likes of Egypt and Cape Verde.

Ryanair have started to load up some of there extra summer 2022 flights which were announced last month along with the 3rd based aircraft. This is what I've found so far.

I still find it very odd FR canned ALC for this winter, definitely think it was a strategic decision to probably force LBA into a better deal etc, glad to see it doing double daily on some days! When does the third based AC start?

Good to see a lot of Eastern Europe in there, separate from Jet2 core market but also giving Wizz a good run for their money at DSA, pretty sure they dropped/suspended their Poznan route.

You mention its good to see lots of eastern europe in the schedule, i just hope things calm down in ukraine, first the virus, now a war, so some caution i feel on them eastern routes

Jet2's withdrawal from Krakow can only be Ryanair's gain.

If Jet2 cancelled my flight, but I had accommodation booked separately. I'ld just rebook onto Ryanair even if Krakow is near the Ukrainian boarder..
