The RAF's latest Atlas A400M is due to make some training approaches this morning at 1015. Conditions should be good for photography☺

Yes, welcome to the forum, NOSIGWX.

I live on the south-east edge of Bristol and was working in my garden in the beautiful winter sun this morning when I saw the aircraft on its circuits.

the a400m was also doing circuits at cwl and newquey today. so was doing a round robin job.

Good thinking and you are correct. Many thanks.

I'd forgotten that Bath are away at Toulouse tomorrow afternoon in one of the European Cup competitions. A check with TLS arrivals board shows that the 3D (Denim Air) from Bristol landed there at 1316 local time today.

I wonder if West Ham will fly to BRS a week tomorrow for their FA Cup match at Bristol City. Some of the London clubs fly to CWL for Premier League games against Swansea City and (last season) Cardiff City.

CS-TRL is arriving from Valladolid.

It's a series of flights carrying students I'm led to believe that's been operating through part of the spring in and out of BRS. Last year the flights were operated by Iberia A 321s.

CS-TRL is an A 320 operated by Evelop based at Palma. The aircraft was previously operated by Oberst of Portugal (hence presumably its current Portuguese registration) but passed to Evelop when it acquired Oberst. Evelop seems a small airline but is owned by a Spanish travel group.

The BRS Mayfly shows the flight leaving BRS for Salamanca so maybe the student trips are coming to an end for this year.

200th easyJet Airbus

Aircraft pass close to my house (about seven miles from BRS) and I can never resist looking up at them when I'm out of doors. For many weeks, probably months, I've noticed the all-orange easyJet A 320 when I've 'looked up' and when I've been at the airport.

I was walking around the back of the airfield today and had a close-up view of the aircraft and discovered it's G-EZUI (I'm not normally one who bothers much with registrations). I was aware it's the 200th easyJet Airbus and this is the reason that 200 is painted prominently on the side of the fuselage.

It does seem therefore that it's spent a lot of this year at BRS and I'm sure I've seen it last year as well.

Out of interest I looked at FR24 and discovered that G-EZUI flew on a Toulouse rotation this morning (I saw it arrive back), Inverness this afternoon (I saw it depart) and Paris Cdg late afternoon/early evening. It looks as though it will be off to Palma and back this evening - the 1915 scheduled departure is showing a 55 minute delay but G-EZUI seems to be the only 320 on the ground at the moment so it's a good bet it will be the aircraft assigned to fly to Majorca.

Incidentally, out of nine or ten easyJet aircraft I saw today only one was in the new livery. I didn't record the registration.

with the weston super mare airshow this weekend. do we know if red arrows are parking at the airport this year. they are doing a display on the saturday afternoon and sunday afternoon.
the vulcan will be doing a display on the sunday. was reading somewhere this is the last season it will be doing displays, which is a great shame.
lets hope for more of the blue skies this weekend.

you are riht in saying it was based in brs last summer,a fair bit. it seems like it doesnt get changed as much as the rest of the fleet.
i think it looks better being all orange, than the revised color scheme they are now changing to.

The Red Arrows are due to perform at Weston on both Saturday and Sunday according to their website. They are also at Barry on Saturday so I suppose they could use CWL or BRS. CWL might be favourite as it's much less busy than BRS.

Incidentally, looking at the Red Arrows summer programme there is no mention of the Bristol Balloon Fiesta in August. They've attended most years in recent times but not last year from memory because they had a commitment elsewhere. At the time it was reported they'd be back this year but they don't seem to have a visit in their summer itinerary.

They will be based at BRS all weekend.
Saturday
Arrive BRS 0950
Depart Barry 1200
Arrive BRS 1240
Depart WSM 1600
Arrive BRS 1645

Sunday
Depart Portsmouth 1130
Arrive BRS 1150
Depart WSM 1445
Arrive BRS 1530
Depart scampton 1730.

The B17 will be arriving around 1630 on Saturday

I saw the Balloon Fiesta a few years ago going along the M4 on a long haul car journey from Brighton to Swansea (via Bath), it was pretty magnificent and brightened up the journey. So did the fact that I saw tonnes of planes from Heathrow and Gatwick and a Titan 757 over Bristol...

There is a picture on the BRS Twitter page of a Catalina flying boat that arrived at BRS yesterday in connection with this weekend's Weston Air Show.

Red Arrows

Red Arrows Twitter page now saying the aircraft are off to Exeter Airport ahead of the Weston display. So far as I can see the weather is ok at BRS and everything has landed through the early hours and right through the morning with no diversions.

If it's a case of the weather at Weston that will be the same whether the aircraft come from BRS or EXT.

Can anyone enlighten me why the Red Arrows cannot get in at BRS but all the commercial passenger traffic can?

they had a disply this morning, but whe they got there, there was sea mist so barry got cancelled. they diverted to exeter from barry as the gear was at exeter airport. they did not want to risk brs weather.they turned up at weston did 2 fly overs and sea mist closed in in the bay. a mile either side was clear with sun. they returned to exeter where all their gear was.a great shame as most other things got cancelled as well. hope for a better day tomorrow.in a nut shell plane with all bits and bobs on went straight to exeter, so others followed.

The BHX Movements Blog says the BH Air flight to Birmingham from Burgas is the non-stop BGH5559, but FR24 says the flight is BGH5539 and is routing via Bristol. Can any of you Bristol followers confirm whether this is true?

BGH 5539 arrived at BRS today at 1713 (63 minutes late). It later departed for BHX as BGH 5540 (no actual time shown as is normal on the BRS departures page - just says 'departed'- although the sched departure time is 1710).

Today's BRS Mayfly confirms that 5539 arrives from Burgas but returns via BHX.

Next Saturday's Mayfly shows a similar pattern.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
