The BGH has been operating a double dip flight for the last 3 weeks and will continue for the summer like it.

It has around 50/50 BHX/BRS pax on it.

correct it was cdf bound to pick pax up for lourdes. it landed in cdf with no delay.
i dont know where this statement of information came from,but it was way off mark with destination brs.

It was shown at around 2500 feet over the Severn estuary and when I saw it it appeared to be heading in the direction of Bristol.

Today's BH Air flight from Burgas is being operated by LZ-BHI, which is in a white scheme according to all the photos I can find of it.

It's been a beautiful day in Bristol today with sun for the most part, very light winds and a temperature in the low 20cs.

The annual Bristol International Balloon Fiesta is taking place from Thursday to Sunday with hundreds of thousands of people expected to attend and the weather, for once, is perfect for it. It looks as though all six mass ascents will take place with the balloon glows on two evenings also in no danger (one took place last night).

This evening has been one of the best of this inconsistent summer weather-wise around here and I watched the balloons (around 100) from my garden flying near to my home on the south east edge of Bristol, many at low level, and including the special shapes which require benign wind conditions to get aloft.

The balloons were heading just south of east beneath the approach path for BRS's runway 27 (the active runway this evening) in the direction of the villages to the south-west of Bath.

As the light began to fade there was the gorgeous sight of the last of the balloons silhouetted against the gradually darkening sky as incoming aircraft passed overhead. At one point five bmi regional ERJs (from MXP, HAM, FRA, ABZ and DUS) flew past within about a 15 minutes period as well as the usual easyJet and Ryanair.

The pleasure and the mystery (to many) of flight had no better demonstrator than this evening.

I was last in the area back in May heading along the M5 at sunrise (when you are forced to travel in school holidays it's best to leave in the early hours). As we passed Clevedon we noticed two balloons rising above the hills in the distance (Mendips?). It was quite a beautiful sight watching them rising through the early morning mist as they caught glimpses of the first rays of sunlight. Mrs Finkle and I had a long conversation about enjoying the amazing view whilst eating strawberries and sipping champagne.

The Balloon Festival is something I aim to attend sooner rather than later.

Well worth a visit although the crowds do make getting there and parking difficult at times. There are many other things to keep families amused throughout the day at the Fiesta which is held in the beautiful grounds of the city council-owned Ashton Court estate on the edge of Bristol near the Clifton Suspension Bridge.

The Night Glow on the Thursday and Saturdays evenings is a special highlight.

The hills in the distance would have been the Mendips if you were near Clevedon.

I found this interesting snippet whilst perusing the BRS Spotting website Facebook page.

Air Berlin B 738 D-ABMQ landed and later took off (both shown in the linked video) in atrocious weather yesterday at BRS apparently en route to Munich having, it seems, arrived from Stansted. It was reportedly a charter flight.

Air Berlin is a rare visitor to BRS although there is a picture of a different Air Berlin B 738 (can't make out the reg) in One World colours parked at BRS in much better weather conditions on an unknown date (possibly 8 August this year).

There were charters by Air Berlin from a number of UK airports to Munich in the last week for an Audi Launch event.

STN, BRS, BHX, MAN, EDI and GLA at least has flights.

It seems to be owned by the Yucaipa Companies, a major investment organisation. Don't get many transatlantic B 757s any more, or transatlantic anything I suppose apart from, perhaps, the odd bizjet.

I can find no local reference to Yucaipa Companies which seems to be a private equity and venture capital group vehicle that invests mainly in retail, manufacturing and distribution with a particular focus on supermarkets and grocery chains. I can find no obvious synergy in the Bristol area now that Somerfield is no longer a Bristol-headquartered company - it's no longer a company at all in its own name.

The co-founder and main man is Ronald Burkle, an American billionaire, who lives (at least for some of the time) in London. He seems well connected with the Democratic elite in the USA, especially the Clintons, and once said his philosophy was to buy companies that were 'doing OK but had some issues'.

Your hints (clues?) are intriguing but don't chime with Yucaipa's past record so far as I can tell.

The obvious thing is to add 2 and 2 but they may not make the 4 I am beginning to wonder about.

You're either going to give this near brain-dead old fogie a much bigger clue or let me stew until something is announced publicly (nearly missed out the first l); knowing you I suspect the latter. :shok:
