The motorway is the M6. At around 3:49 center screen in the old Dunlop factory. As for the suburbs, I don't really know exactly so maybe other people will know more, but looking at google maps I think its Castle Bromwich/Stechford/Lea Hall.

It starts off just to the east of Sutton Coldfield, possibly over Bassetts Pole, at around :09 seconds the Sutton transmitter mast is in the bottom left hand corner (if you could look to the right you would see Drayton Manor Theme Park). When it starts to turn left the large body of water ahead is Chasewater Park, after turning further the town of Aldridge then comes in to view under the clouds. As it straightens up again the large grassed area on the left with the lake is Sutton Park. It then descends over the suburbs of Walmley and Erdington before passing the Jaguar Castle Bromwich plant on the left and Fort Dunlop in the centre. After the M6 the suburbs are Castle Bromwich, Tile Cross, Kitts Green (the large factory is Alcoa) and the Garretts Green industrial site is just before Sheldon Country Park.

Great video, but one of the pilots could really do with some Tixylix!
I was hoping to see my Dad's old house in Bloxwich, but seeing Aldridge come into view, I think they turned a little too early. I'll watch again and look for my old school in Aldridge.

Reminds me of long summer days on the old grassed area where the 20's stands are now. We'd run down to the bottom of the hill to wave at the pilots, my memory is hazy but I think the vast majority waved back

I recall going to see what I think was the first Il-76 to visit BHX. A huge crowd had gathered on the old grassed viewing area. The Il-76 landed R33 and began to taxi back down the parallel taxiway, to its destination on the Elmdon apron. Over the radio, I heard ATC say that a lot of people had turned out to see the aircraft and asked if they'd mind taking the long route round via taxiway echo so that the crowd could get a good view. In a heavy Russian accent, came the reply 'yes, of course'. I thought this was a wonderful gesture and we all had a great view of the Il-76.
