Thanks! The walk in the morning was brilliant ... only I wish I could have think of taking spare pair of shoes!!!!

ps I don't know why it's cutting the photos, just click them to see in lager size :)

I was at EMA Tue eve and Wed early afternoon and the AN124 was parked up, hoping it would go out. The weather, especially Wed, was abysmal for photographs.
How I long for the days of the 70's when there was always something exotic at Fields, Air Cameroun DC3; Ethiopian DC3; Iraqi A/W Visc. Ah well, back to the present day!

Fantastic photo's :hatsoff:

Where did you take them from?
Thanks, I am not very good at locations around airport so I will try to describe :D I parked up at Diseworth road and walked down the muddy trail past the wreck for firefighters. There's what looks like unused crashgate and that's where I was. I found that there is quite alive group of spotters for east midlands on facebook, they roughly knew the depart time of the antonov, although it departed 50min later than said on facebook I still was lucky. If it won't rain I will go on the full round trip around airport during the weekend.

Also word to Seasider, being grumpy won't help bringing more interesting planes :) just this week there are few 747s, some bombardiers and other interesting stuff on the ground or coming and going. ;)

Thanks, I didn't realise there was parking on Diseworth Road. I must make time for another trip up there next time something interesting is in.

Being grumpy comes with age and having to sit in a car and turn on the ignition so you can clear the windscreen.

Well... there's no parking :) but the on the side of the road there's plenty of space so you can park without blocking the way. Plenty of cars were there from the spotters to dog walkers. Let me know when you will be going that way, maybe I will be able to join you :drinks:

Seasider ... does that mean you turn into Garfield? :) well jokes aside, looking at various, older photos of planes at EMA I can see your point :)

Great pictures Seasider thanks for posting them.

The DHL facility sure is going to be something when the extension and hangar are done.

From the planning documents.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
