I noticed a DHL 763 parked over on stand 81 today which I'm assuming is in for MAEL. The West Atlantic 763 was also outside the hangar this morning.

MAEL have the contract for DHL as their B767' can be seen at the hangars.

MAEL also have the fedex B757/A300 contract.

I noticed the DHL 763 outside MAEL earlier so I imagine it'll be heading back to EMA soon. Apparently there will be another arriving in the next day or so to take it's place.

DHL 763 G-DHLE has departed and been replaced by another 763 G-DHLF which was outside the hangar today.

G-DHLF was doing engine runs today so should be departing soon, I believe another DHL 763 will take it's place.

767F G-DHLG arrived late weds night.was outside MAEL hangar till about 3pm when towed inside.G-DHLF left weds pm.757 G-TCSX took off at 1pm and did several touch and go`s with 2 full stop landings and a crew change before going back to Elmdon apron at 3pm.was due to take a few pax on a short flight after this.regards,simon.

Cheers for the info.

Is G-TCSX the 757 in the Four Seasons livery? If so I think I saw a couple of the circuits.

Some good news for MAEL :)

American Airlines chooses MAEL

Monarch Aircraft Engineering Ltd (MAEL), the engineering division of The Monarch Group, has been contracted to provide line maintenance technical handling to American Airlines.

The contract, which commences in May, will see Monarch’s highly experienced engineering team support American Airlines Boeing 757-200 aircraft at Birmingham Airport in the UK.

great news and great sign of confidence from AA ...not the actions of an airline that only plan to stay around for a month!!!

N229FR departed yesterday on its delivery flight to the US. Sad to see planes leaving the fleet but at this rate MON will have to lease loads more planes to fill in for the ones they've sold off... I particularly enjoyed the Privilege Style 757s last year, here's to even more variety this year. :drinks:

G-EOMA is actually at MAN at the moment. Been parked up for a few days since doing MAN-ALC-MAN.

Ah my bad. No logs seemed to have it moving since it arrived from ALC.

The Privilege Style aircraft was fitted out superbly. Don't think I've been on a more comfortable SH flight.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did. They also have an E145 and a 767, which has been used before by the UK companies. Much better than that Aurela 737 they used to have. The Aurela 737 gained real infamy during its time at MON. What are Jet Time like as an airline? At least the plane Monarch are using is newish.

G-POWH has been inside the hangar for a long time. I don't suppose anyone knows what other aircraft are due in for MAEl?

Anyone fancy reversing an A330 into the hangar? :)

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
