That's just pretty standard stuff tbh, one season at a time. Expect that to be updated in the coming months
Exactly, there is at least one other airport that KLM want to transfer to Eastern but Eastern are focussing on getting LBW set up as a priority at the moment. They want this to work, and whilst it’s nice to have the full KLM livery the service onboard is pretty much the same from my experience. Who knows what the future holds, but it’s likely to prove lucrative for Eastern as the regional market they were built on does not exist any more, and this is what led to the bad relations with LBA I’m afraid to say.

and this is what led to the bad relations with LBA I’m afraid to say.

No it was the fact that Eastern didn’t pay their bills.
It led to the situation where LBA impounded one of there BAe Jetstream 41’s, they eventually paid up what was owed and the aircraft was released whilst the LBA services to SOU & NQY were axed.

It’s been said already, it shouldn’t effect the KLM Franchise work as it’s the Dutch Airline whom will continue to pay fees & charges.

It led to the situation where LBA impounded one of there BAe Jetstream 4, so to force them to eventually pay up what was owed and the aircraft was released and the LBA services axed.

It was the reduction on trade which led Eastern to suffer cash flow problems which then caused them to apparently default on some payments. This is true, but the intention will never have been to cause problems. KLM pay Eastern directly, not sure if they pay the airports separately they may do they may not, but Eastern are fully committed to make this work because there is no regional market left to exploit.

My goodness, the DSA wallers are bad-mouthing our little airport on the hill…what a set of idiots.
Yes it would seem that the mechanic didn’t like someone finally speaking the truth to the press so he contacted them himself to try change the narrative back to one of mistruths and urban myths.

The SaveDSA group really is an echo chamber, which likes to blame LBA for its lack of viability rather than look at why it ultimately failed.

Totally agree 100%…..

I dont agree with the environmental argument its all about the financial one.

@BCFC if you go on the DSA thread you will find that there has been quite a lot of activity, especially this last week.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
